Hello, My last recent encounter (used protection) was last year, November 23, 2015. I got a full STD panel October 4, 2016, so about 10 and a half months after the encounter. Everything came back as negative except for HSV-1. I noticed a small blister/lesion in my left inner thigh this past March and have been observing it. It's kind of scabbed over and I do get constant tingling sensations in my inner thigh fairly occasionally. Could this possibly be a yeast infection or some other skin condition?
I recently did another HSV IGG test this past Tuesday (Dec 6, 2016) and HSV1 came back positive but HSV2 came back negative.

Thanks for the help.
It's hard to say by the pic but my thoughts are that you may have hsv 1 genitally if that's where your noticing the issues. Hsv 1 genital outbreaks are typically less frequent and problematic than hsv2 . Just remember hsv 1 and 2 are just types of viruses that prefer certain sites on the body but they are not limited to where they can transmit
Thanks for the comment. Is it possible for HSV-1 to infect me genitally even if I've had cold sores in the past? I've read this is a particularly rare occurance.
If you've had cold sores before, then you tested positive for HSV1 because of your oral infection. You should be immune to getting it genitally. What you noticed is probably unrelated.
Hello Felis, thank you for the reply. I've been experiencing constant tingling sensations for the past year or so in the thigh area. Are these symptoms similar to that of Herpes in the sense it causes constant sensations like these? Also, is it possible that the HSV2 IgG test is a false negative? I've seen that quite a few percentage of people don't test positive even if they are infected? I'm definitely past the window period since the last test I got has been more than year since my last encounter.
Thanks.
Would you happen to know based off the picture what this condition may be if it's not HSV?
Herpes should not cause constant symptoms of any kind. The IgG test for HSV2 is only really prone to false negatives if testing is done too early, which is not the case with you. The same test for HSV1 is the one that can miss carriers, not the HSV2 test. The bump in your photo could just be a pimple.
Hi Felis. Thanks for the reply. This definitely helps ease the tension a bit.
Is it possible that a pimple like this scabs and heals over time? What do you think may be causing these constant symptoms?
Thanks!
I have no idea what else it could be, as I am sure there must be many potential causes. All I can say is that it's extremely unlikely to be herpes, since you tested negative(!) and herpes isn't constant.
Hello can someone help me, about a week ago I noticed a tear in my perniuiem I haven't had sex since and have been using vagisil and Epsom baths every day to help the area it isn't healing at all though and today I noticed three tiny like ulcers on the outside of my vagina near the opening it's painful to touch. I've been seeing the same person for 6-7 months and only slept with him and I've hinted to him like "I've gone pains down there" seeing if he will say I've got some problems to but he hasn't said anything and I've been really moody this last week and I'm paranoid if i have them how will I tell him !? I feel so stupid my pernueim isn't healing and now I've got them spots ??

Just tell your partner that he may have given something to you and that he ought to get tested for herpes. You should also seek confirmation yourself. Get swabbed and typed asap for greatest accuracy, and do the IgG test for herpes at the same time to see if you had this before him or not. I suspect not and that this is a new infection you got from him.
