Crohn's disease and rib pain

I was diagnosed last year with Crohn's disease. Before I was diagnosed I used to experience pain which almost felt like my ribs were being crushed. This feeling went for a while but has recently come back! Any one know what this can be ?

Dear Beth

Not medically qualified but it could be gallstones, which are blocking gallbladder tubey thing that bile passes through.

Check your symptoms on line I think chest/rib area pain, vomiting are common with this. Hope you feel better soon.

I have crohns and my pain is to right and lower quarter abdomen if this helps

Hi Beth, I agree with another member. I have crohns too, I never had symtoms that your having. I suggest you seek advice. Good luck

Need to get that checked out I think. My pain/symptoms fron crohns has a pattern usually of lower /higher bowel pain but not usually near the rib area. I think it depends also on the pain as I am becoming an expert (yea right) on how different people perceive their pain and my own

It could be your gallbladder. I had mine removed after being diagnosed with gallstones. I suffered severe crushing pain in my ribs/chest. The pain was so bad I though I was having a heart attack. The pain eased off after vomiting and then disappeared for weeks/months. Definitely ask your doctor for an ultrasound scan
