Cryotherapy

Has anyone tried this? Thanks

Hi, no not tried it officially... as podiatrist sai not ideal... he treats arsenal so knows a bit... but i was so fed up that i stuck two of those wrappers that you freeze to put round champagne bottles on my feet for HOURS one day and half froze to dath. The PF went overnight.  Following that success (!) now if i have any ache or pain anywhere i stick major ice on it - alt he serious athletes have ice baths and stuff dont they nowadays so good luck.

Hi Sparkle and thanks for your response. Do you know why your podiatrist said not ideal? My doctor also has suggested a bucket of ice, but only for 5 minutes. Didn't help me much

I think its only OK for very specific issues - he is one of the leaders in cryogenics but said it would not be OK for me so did not persue it.

I;d do what i did as you have nothing to lose: go get 2 of those things you are meant to freeze to put rounf wine bottles (the champagne ones are wider) and sit on the sofa one evening with them on all evening till your feet are half frozen.   I was slightly staggered it worked but it did. I also took up swimming breaststroke with my feet at right angles pushing away the water and that really helped too.   Also looked up all anti-inflammatory foods on internet (PF is infalmmation). Went on a pretty strict diet of fruit, veg, nuts, seeds, fish and increased omega 3, to see if i could help kill the inflammation.  Not sure which worked but the day after i half froze my feet, it had gone!   Give it a go! nothing to lose!

Oh yes,,, the other thing which helped me was getting some Sketchers Go Walk shoes which are really soft to walk on.  They helped lower the inflammation too i think. Anyway i am 99% back to normal now.  When it was really painful i got a bit of relief from Voltarol gel which i rubbed in (which can be bought over the counter) but dont need any more.
