anyone have any issues with nerve damage after a endophatic sac decompression? I had the surgery in Nov 30th, they nicked my dura causing a CSF leak. Then I developed Arachnoiditis from my body rejecting the stuff they used to block the leak. I have had a headache since, developed cyst on my cervical spine from the CSF leak. They cannot figure out why I continue to have headaches. Help

I had it done back in 2013 and it kept me symptom free besides a little balance issue few vertigo spells. But I lived life normally. Then I went through something traumatic and very stressful and it brought on my symptoms again. I had vertigo for 4 weeks. So I opted to have it revised. The revision is where I had the issues. I do believe that it the stressful event didn’t happen I’d still be symptom free. Don’t be scared, yes for a few days there is pain, but overall my first one was a success.
I had Ménière’s disease for 4 years with hardly any systems then my one son got married and my mom dies a week later so the stress from all that brought it on big time and have a hard time getting rid of it . Really watching my sodium intake and then with the operation I thought it might really help. I hate this disease so much. I just want it to go away 😢
The first surgery helped me a lot! The 2nd has controlled my symptoms but now I have side effects from the infection. Yes, this disease is awful!
Oh Willow I'm so sorry to hear that that one mistake has caused you so much discomfort.
I think I'm gonna try and get the surgery myself soon. I can only pray they don't make that mistake with me. My guess with the headaches is the possibility that it's inflamed your inner ear a lot leading it to put pressure on the nerve in your temples. TMJD is often undiagnosed (or misdiagnosed as Meniere's disease). So that may explain the headaches. Where do they begin? Also it depends on how the cyst is affecting your cervical spine, as often once that gets knocked out you need chiropractic care to get it back. If the headache starts at the base of your head I would say cervical spine, if it starts anywhere else I would say inflamed inner ear putting pressure on your TMJ. I really suggest you get to a specialist to see if you have TMJD as I know of many many people who have had Meniere's for 15-20 years find permanent relief from the disease through TMJD treatment.
