About 6 years ago I had some feeling that were uncomfortable on my right side. It grew to pain and was insistent. 1 year later I had my gall bladder removed and ended up with Pancreatitus. After I healed and had hoped the pain would go away it never did I just lived with it because drs. just shrug at me. Now I have recently had an Ultra sound and CT done showing all is normal. Why then is my side so swollen a person can feel it and not only is it on my right side it is now on my left side. This is near my kidneys. Any and all help would be appreciated. I eat healthy lots of veggies and fruits and I do not drink sodas. I do occasionally drink coffee but this does not cause the pain. I get the pain by just drinking water. I can not sleep at night because the swelling is so bad and since it is now coming from both sides I am not sure how I am am supposed to sleep. Is there a next step. Blood work and everything shows normal. I won't take pain meds because it is the first thing they think is I am out to get drugs and has never been the case. I know something is terribly wrong and yet I just want the answers. I have seen that many people have this issue.
You need to see your doctor again and explain the level of pain you are in. Ask for pain medication; there is norhing to be ashamed of in dong this. If I was in that level of pain. I would take painkillers especially if you are not sleeping because if it. I don’t think doctors would think that you are out to get drugs. You don’t know for sure that they think that. Ask for pain medication and further testing.
Thanks Pippa I am now being sent to a surgeon and he is someone I trust completely since he fixed a botched surgery a few months ago just waiting on my 2 week referral from my insurance...
Hopefully they can do something for you.
