Curiosity! Just a weird question aimed at > MALES <

Ok, just going to get streight to the point. I started taking these tablets about 3 weeks ago, but got warned that i would have problems getting an erection. Ive actually had the opposite. I get 'em more than i did before, and whats better is that i last about 5x longer than I did before!

Now here is the place to stop reading if your insulted by my question lol---

Well the main question here is have any other men started having amazing feelings when ejaculating? My whole body flies all over the place for about 30 seconds when i cum. Has anyone else been lucky enough to have a side effect like this?

Show off  Yeah thinking about it, it can make it pretty mind blowing (once you get there)

I was on 40 mg a day Citalopram for some time when I noticed that while I still got aroused quickly and easily, at the critical point everything just shut down as if a switch had been turned off.

My partner was overseas for some months and we did not find this out until she returned.

I was told two days ago by a psychologist that Citalopram is used by Australian Courts as a means of chemical castration.

The long term side effects can be permanent.

I have now been prescribed \"Amira 300\" which is 300 mg of moclobemide. So far it seems I have no permanent side effects from Citalopram.

My condition is major depression.

Wow well its a good job i dont want kids then :P The experiance that im having on therse tablets at the moment is worth it.

I was going to say make the most of it :D

Yeh just a shame i dumped my ex just before i started taking them haha. Maybe there is a dating website for people on anti depressants...god that would be amazing...the sex would last for days haha.

Bad girl thinks your all a little ego centirc and should be very careful about saying such things.

God -a website for those on antidepressants-thatd be fun!! Bring it on! But huh-ill not be joining.Im too busy writing about myself haha!

bloody hell chill out it was only a joke!

well is there no meaning in jokes?

well I'm a girl and I was really hopeful that I might have a more positive side effect when I took citalopram, though unfortunately I was dissapointed! my other half sent me this link the other day and I really wish my doc had prescribed these instead smile http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8363743.stm

Moog-you make me laugh!!!!

I was hoping for exstacy myself!

Well im glad people are looking on the positive side of this anyway!

Im going to talk to my GP about it I dont want to be chemically castrated

I cant find any other info about the castration effect. But seriously im willing to take the chance.

I had this happen to me within 10 days of taking cit, after i managd to stop taking cit the effects have gone back to \"normal\"..to be honest tho i am struggling not taking the cit and have been told that i need to go back to see doc. wifes not gonna be happy lol

Interesting topic! I can agree.

First, the castration rumour. As far as I know, the 'chemical castration' reference is probably regarding fluoxetine (prozac) rather that citilopram. Fluoxetine can massively reduce libido, and as such has been seen to prevent 'unwanted' desires in sexual predators whilst they are taking it. There was an article going round in the broadsheets about this usage some time ago.

Consequently, as someone with depression being treated with Fluoxetine, when the lack of sex started affecting my relationship, I decided to ween myself off it. The sex came back, the depression got worse.

Now, I have been put on citilopram as according to my GP it shouldn't have the same affects as the fluoxetine did to my libido. Now, 5 days in, and suddenly I'm taking a very long time to ejaculate. Sex on Saturday night, was great but after quite a while I realised it wasn't going to come to its usual conclusion and we went to sleep. Sunday morning, same kind of thing. Sunday afternoon - wow. Thought I was going to explode. Made a lot of noise and did kind of lose control a bit! Was amazing but was it worth the two times before of my partner wondering what was wrong? (I've not told her I'm back on ADs).

It's still early days for me in terms of how it's affecting my depression, but this is certainly a rollercoaster of frustration and excitement in another sense!

I seem to require more stimulation as time goes on  :D Im speaking to my GP about it, anyway I only take the Citalopram now to get rid of the headache from not taking it, a bit pointless really  Ill see what my GP says

When my GPs want to see someone they simply stop their medication / s  Well this time theyve made a big mistake, they stopped the Citalopram but I dont care theyve stopped it :D Im changing GPs, this lots attitude stinks  :x

i found your responses interesting cos its the exact opposite with me it has caused me not to have sexual feelings at all. I read that it can enhance sex but that hasnt happened to me. I been on it over a month now. Am a little concerned about it but its not a major issue.

Yeah similar experiences as alanmack; female mid twenties however, but have completely lost my libido. Like 90% of it. Am not sure whether to continue or not since it's beginning to affect my relationship My partner says it isn't, and I believe him, but I'm beginning to get stressed nonetheless as I feel I must be frustrating him to death. Used to be of the \"three times per weekend\" type before.

For some reason I've been seeing really vivid dreams as of late, where the problem is not, uh, present lol
