i was given cymbalta 30mg once a day for anxiety along with klonopin .5 mg 1-2x a day i took cymbalta the first time on wednesday at 3pm and i was fine until 9pm then i felt weird my mouth was dry , my teeth and jaws kept clinching together, i would get cold , i felt slow paced like i was jus moving slow, i felt weird not dizzy but i jus felt weird . when i would yawn and get done yawning my jaws jus felt weird . i was scared . the next day i still had a little jaw clinching . i looked up these symptoms and i am reading that im gettinf to much serotonin. i told my doctor and she said to take one every other day for a week but i dont want to bc i am reading it can be life threatning . im scared . what could my doctor put me on if ssri didnt work now this didnt work? anyone else experience this?
I don't have those side effects. If you don't like to take Cymbalta , you can ask your doctor to change to another antidepressant. I have tried 5 medications.
ive tried 5 diff ssri si she said my body must not do good w that class n tried me on this snri but obvious i cant do it its giving me too much serotonin n i resd it could b life threatening . i dont want to die for having to much .
I was disappointed, too. I thought there are no medications to treat my anxiety. I took Pristiq (the same class with Cymbalta) and I was very tired, dizzy ... May be, you can try Pristiq. It is a tablet you can break the pill into half, start slow and go slow. You should not suffer from anxiety. I suffered from it for 6 months. I know how terrible it is.
I have just stopped this was put on it for depression and anxiety but again like you didn't with me felt head was buzzing all the time my nerves were burning and itchy skin maybe you could a tricylic antidepressant like amitriptyline or there will be something that suits you go back to your gp you could ask to do cbt also when I was reducing it every other night I had diarrhoea gp said this wasn't good

i mean im on klonopin also but the snri didnt work wouldnt u think another snri would be the same ? putting to much in my body . im wondering if i should try another pne tmwr jus to see
yes i only took 1 pill ate bout 20mins before taking it ans then 6 hours lter felt all these signs and jm reading that my body could be getting to much serotonin and it can be deadly . she told me to take it every other day n let her kno but im scared i dont want to die. im wondering if i shohls try it tmwf n see . im on klonopin also
I would go back to your gp I'm constant digestive problems gurling stomach and they are suppose be gastro resistant my ms nurse said it does cause these problems you will not die they can give you beta blockers for anxiety I'm on them but please go back to your doctors

i wrote her tuesday when this happened n she wrote back fri n said try every other day . the klonopin works n i dont have no side effects . what should i tell her?
i already have low blood pressure its mornal but always on low side

Just tell your gp you want to come off them and try something else there will be something else that will help you if you come off them just be weary of side effects these are horrid

IMO and I'm not a Doctor but have read lots on serotonin syndrome and that you are on a low dose if taken once a day instead of the recommended dose of taking 30mg twice a day.
I would say you are just having side effects and not serotonin syndrome.
im only on it 1x a day 30mg . she said maybe we can lower the dose . im also on klonopin .5 mg 1 tab 2xs a day if needed . i take a .5 and dont feel nothing that mean it working ?

I tried Pristiq, and did not like it. Now, I am taking Cymbalta, the same class with Pristiq. If you try Pristiq, should ask for smallest dose, then try 1/2 pill for 2 days. If it is ok, you try 1 pill.
I started lowest dose of Cymbalta, 20 mg., for 2 weeks. I heard some people count beads in the capsule, put only 1/2 of the beads back in the capsule and take the capsule.
she wrote me bck n said that with serotonin syndrome i would have sweats high bp n all she said stop taking medicine n let me kno if u still have those effects and to make a apt with her soon so she can better evaluate me and see what is going on . wat u think she means? she said i have gad .what cjd shd possibly do?
Probably, she gives you another medication to try. I would ask her to give a lowest dose. And, when you start the medication, try 1/2 pill for 2 days (if you can break the pill). Take the pill with food to avoid nausea.
yes i jus asked for the cymbalta 20mg but i believe they are time release capsules . she said if u think u can tollerate that n then we will know something when i go back to her end of month
Because you tried a few meds, you would be afraid of side effects when you take a new med. Trick your brain, don't pay any attention much on side effects, just thinking" this pill will make me feel better".
