Hi Have been having stomach pains since march went to doctor and sent for ultrasound, have 1cm cyst on right ovary and can not see left ovary as my bowel was covring this, told this is fine if left ovary had anything on it the bowel would protrude, my stomach is still bloated and sore have been back they have done a stool sample but said i have not problems with my bowel, should i insist on another ultrasound they said my CA125 was 12 but this is not a accurate indicator i dont think Any one had similar problems with bowel covered on ultrasound, would be glad to hear from you
thanks
Hi, Yes. Have been through same. I have had seven different scanning procedures since January. I started with blood in urine, bloating and abdo pain. One US scan showed a 3cm cyst on left ovary - right ovary could not be seen due to bowel covering it. So I thought hmm there could be a problem with that ovary. GP was not concerned about this, but I was. They are leaving the cyst as it had not grown on follow up scan. I have been prescribed Mebeverine tablets to take three times before eating. They are helping with the bloating, which could be due to IBS. I dont think they will be concerned with 1cm cyst, but it should be rescanned in a few weeks to see if it has grown. Please let me know how you go on. Good luck.
Hi Elizabeth was back yesterday at doctors they have given me Buscpan for IBS and doing a blood test for ceoliac,i dont think it is either of these and when i go next time i am going to ask about getting another scan as it was march it was done in, just concerned that other ovary cant be seen,
Hi, yes I had blood tests, one for celiac disease, but that came back negative. I get lots of rumbling, as If im starving, but it happens after I've eaten, so it's probably IBS causing that. I also have lots of bloating, anf feel pregnant at times. It's a difficult one because ovarian cysts can cause these problems as well. I think you are wise to ask for another scan. My right ovary proved to be o.k. Also my cyst did not show up on US or transvaginal scan, so I had a CT scan with contrast, and that showed it up. The reason right ovary could not be seen was because of gas in the bowel, so hopefully the buscopan will reduce this for when you have your next scan. Good luck.
