Was told i needed a cystoscopy as my bladder wasnt empying but had a scan was fine and all clear.im 63 just been given to try the cream for 2 wk then twice a wk im on day 5 now and feel like ive thrush cystitis all in one is this normal taking the cream till it settles down.?

Hi Julz!

What cream are you using? I'm on Estrace Cream, into my twice weekly now. The first week was touch and go, some days better than others. I used 1 gram at night before bed and also used about a pea sized amount and coated the outer tissues also. After the first week I cut it down to .5 gram because, for me, it wasn't absorbing like I thought it would and was getting alot of discharge. I'm back to using a gram twice a week. If your pH is off then it could mean you have thrush, but this cream will restore your pH. If you think  you have an infection it's a good idea to call your doctor. I felt as if I had either BV or yeast and a UTI when I started the cream, but I had none of them, it was the atrophy and dryness causing the problems. Since I've been on the Estrace Cream, I feel almost back to normal. It can take several weeks to months before the cream really gets going. Some women say they feel an almost immediate relief, some don't. I did to an extent as far as the dryness went, I felt much better the first couple days, I was able to sit properly. If you're not using it around the outside and around the urethra ask your doctor if it's ok, that made a huge difference in urination for me.

Good Luck! And hang in there!

Hi gigi im using estriol cream to apply once a day for 2 wk.at this moment in time i feel as if ive thrust plus cystitis at the same time its so uncomfortable but not sure if the cream is causing it or a reaction to it.

I've not used that one... it's not available in the states unless you go to a compounding pharmacy and it's hard to get doctor's to prescribe it. I'd say call your doc and get checked to be on the safe side.
