I’ve been experiencing daily vaginal discharge for the past 4 months. Discharge is light yellow-brown in color and thin, enough that I need to wear a liner daily. I have tested negative for bacterial vaginosis, yeast infection, and all STI’s. I am not pregnant. I’ve had a pap smear and pelvic/vaginal ultrasound done and all were non -significant. I do not currently have a family doctor, so this work up was done in the ER. I was told they couldn’t find any abnormalities (other than my cervix was maybe a little red but likely due to time of my cycle), and that I should be seen by a gynecologist, but I am on a long wait list. They had mentioned that the spotting was maybe due to my birth control as my hormones change as I age. I’m only 26 and have been on the same birth control for 9 years without any issues. The birth control that I am on (Alysena), is a low dose hormone contraceptive. It seems strange that this would happen so abruptly especially when I am not that old. Has anyone else had this type of experience?
Thank you!
