Dark stools

I had my gallbladder removed about 4 months ago, still have on going problems. The one thing I’m not sure is connected, is I’ve been having darker stools just lately, has anyone else experienced this?

I’m not trying to worry you, but darker stools could indicate the presence of blood.
It’s important that you let your doctor know asap about this new symptom.

I know, thats what I was worried about. Been to the doctors about other stuff last week. He sent a referral as urgent so was hoping to tell them got my appointment but it’s not until April.

If the poo is black or tarry or if you notice what looks like coffee grounds, go to ER immediately and tell them what is going on.
Don’t wait.
It’s not normal for anyone to have poo like that, not even after gall bladder surgery.

Tonight I got a scare too when I checked the toilet bowl. My stools were coloured black and brown like a mint humbug, but no white. Only realised I had taken iron supplement evening before and I’m hoping it was that. Did you recall taking anything different to eat or a supplement?

No I’m not taking any supplements.
I just don’t want to make a fuss by going to a&e. I’ve made another appointment with my gp

When I was really bad I saw all sorts of colours! I never knew humans could do that I thought it was only Dogs but it is scary but now I pander to my Gall Bladder it is only the consistency which alters. I found potato was a cure to runny stool but yes it is more normal colour if there is such a thing. Lol I got to laugh because sometimes it was like a tortoise shell, a mixture of dark and browns.
