Date for second hip

Hi everyone

Just had a phone call from my surgeons secretary. Going to be doing 3 weeks of hydrotherapy and then will be having my right hip done. My surgeon feels it is best to give me time to get over my last op[eration because I have had such a bad time with it.At least I will get thew hydrotherapy in before the next op to help make my left leg stronger before I have to do it all over again. I have now got an ipad so I can post on here from my bed or from hospital. Hope everyone is ok.

Hi hailea! Well done you! When are you having your second op? I am dreading mine! I am 13weeks post op! Still feel bruised inside! But am starting gentle swimming and also having reflexology! Being Hubby's carer to puts pressure on me! I also suffer from chronic anxiety as well! Where are you having your op done? Keep positive! Regards Amanda

Wow Hailea not sure whether to commiserate or congratulate - don't think I'd like both mine done within a few weeks of each other but at the same time I wouldn't like to have one done then have to wait months or even years to feel the benefit because the other hip was so sore. So go girl - you can do it and it'll only be a couple of months befire you're goid as new. Xxx

It will either be Monday 6th of July or Monday 13th July and the op done next day Like last time. I am dreadding mine too and I am still healing from the first one. But I am in so much pain because my hip has actually collapsed that I have no choice but to  go for it. It would have been done in September if my hip had not collapsed.

Hi Rosie

I have no choice but to have this one done so soon. My surgeon was going to wait till September. But he knows I should cope ok with it after a few hydrotherapy lessons. I can't do my physio or go to normal physio and my hip is so bad now that it has collapsed that I am in more pain than I ever was with both my hips..I did ask him to do both at the same time but he wouldn't do that. I am sure it will be ok although I am more scared of it now I know what is going to happen.

Glad that things are being sorted. I had hydro therapy before my first hip op and it worked a treat.

I won't complain about mine but he is not like yours, for sure ....if not for this forum I would be sitting in my dark cave -----

Thank you. Yes I have a good surgeon and his team are great.

Everything I have said to them they have listned. With all the surgery I have had over the last 3 years I have been pretty lucky except one time.  So that is not too bad.
