well it's 13 days now since my 2nd thr, funny this one seems to be completey different on the healing scale to the first, I still have some residual pain from the wound and inner muscles, but it's not stiff ike the first one was, I do feel positive when I wake up, then after I make my coffee and wash my teeth etc, I feel wiped out!! so annoying as I really want to get out and do things, ahh well I know I will just have to wait a little longer, I slept on my non opp. side last night, how well I slept, I was reseaching all the different points of view on this * sleeping on your back for 6 weeks* and it seems it's not cast in stone as long as you are careful, I used my giant U shaped pillow and it works for me.
The weather here in Scotland has been bloody awful, rain , rain, and yet more rain!!! so here I am sat on my cushion watching this morning, off all meds now except for the ocasional nurofen, ice packs on my scar, job done.
I hope eveyone is doing great and lets all look forward to the day when we maybe could all meet up fit and well at a central point for all of us, *the hippy class of 2014/15 lol.
Hi Lynne I am day 10 after my second one, and the pain is ebbing away daily from the wound and it has stopped pinching like it was, really thought I would have to have it checked soon but is much better, so things are on track, and the swelling has gone down a lot but it took its time coming up now going down by the day too, sounds like you are on the mend too, well done and keep in touch.. Ian.
I have a M R I on my other hip on Saturday to see if I need that one replaced or repaired. Really need to get back to work now. It's more mental than fiscal I think. But hopefully it will be in and out quick and back to work in no time. X take care of yourself and hope this one goes smoother than your last x
Hi Lynne so pleased your feeling so much better I'll try and send you some of this beautiful Norfolk sunshine to you, we haven't had any rain for a week or more now. As they say on the tv programme "come on down " hehe Love Gill
At this point( 6 WEEKS POST OP TODAY HURRAH) I dread the thought of a second op but hearing these positivre posts from you and others is good for the morale. Sun is now out in northern Ireland so I willget my walk in befoe the rain starts again. Keep well and take it easy.
Hi Lynne, I am day 14 and am so surprised how good I feel. I am moving very freely on crutches. Very little pain, thigh or calf throb more than anything else. I do alot of physio exercises during the day and have my first session with them on Friday since coming out of hospital.
My wound is healing lovely and now using bio oil on it. I find it stings at times depending on how I sit. I tried turnng on my operated side this morning to sleep as sick to death of sleeping on my back but it was too uncomfortable. I am mentally battling with sleeping on my side as am really worried about doing damage to the new hip. I have read lots of for and against for it. Same with the compression stockings, which I have to be honest and say I no longer wear during the day as I am on my feet and moving around alot. I do still wear them at bedtimes though. The weather where I am is grey and the rain is starting to move in so prisoned in the house for the afternoon for a while. May have to go and bake something to past the time
I didn't realize that this was your 2nd THR !!! I am sure you must have mentioned it before ...
happy for you that you are doing well and moving right along ...
the pain in My unoperated leg (Left) is realy getting me now ... good Lord ... groin and shooting pain from top to bottom, making driving a challenge ... I have to leift my left leg in to the car with my hands ... In Holland we drive on the right side of the road and I notice that this is getting more difficult too...
I blame the moving I just did -
Feel the hardware in operated hip/leg and burning sensation under scar ...
weather has been okay here in the north-east of Holland - muggy now and rain and thunder in the forecast ... heavy menure aroma permeating through sliding doors ...
wwouldn't that be lovely !!! a meet up - Hopefully I will be able to dring again by that time !!!!

that would be great!! I'm planning on a long trip 3 or 4 months, to be honest I'm really deciding whether or not to go back there and live, as I used to live in CA and OR, I'll be in touch, it's always nice to make new friends,
