Had my band fitted on Friday afternoon, and am not experiencing too much pain. Only taken one lot of paracetamol today, but really suffering with nausea and this horrid need to be sick but nothing but water is coming up.
I think it might just be gas as quite a lot of pain when I sip anything, but need some reassurance please!!
I haven't been able to take much down today, about a pint of water, half a jelly and some milk.
Congratulations on your op. Im 3 weeks post op now and the wind pain seems a lifetime ago! I didn't really have nausea but sometimes when I drank it felt like a big pocket of air trying to get back up through the band. It did get better day by day and after a week it was much better. 3 weeks on and I feel back to normal xx
Thanks for the reassurance, I wasn't actually sick just a lot of nausea and the excessive watery mouth!! Feeling much better this evening just concerned as all feels so new. I can literally feel every mouthful of drink going down...... xx
I know what you mean - it takes a wee while to get used to it. Your stomach will be swollen where the band was stitched in and that's why it feels so raw. It will get better in a week or so. I can still really feel restriction when I don't chew enough or eat too quickly, and still not on 'proper' food yet, its soft or pureed food just now.
The first few days I was so sore around my middle and I couldn't even sit up or get out the chair. That passed about day 4. There was a point when I didn't think I'd ever feel better - thankfully that passed!
Your appetite should slowly return - just try drink some milk or have yogurt for some energy xx
