Day 22 the last few days have been rough :(

Just want to know that it can feel like your starting over at week four...is the meds not working? Woke up this morning feeling like crying...

Hey Nicole, are you on fluoxetine? I was very up and down for the first month but now I'm definitely on the up. It'll get better!

Yea I am..did you feel like the meds weren't working some days?

The meds are working.  This is quite normal, and it will ease off in time.  Whilst you're recovering your mood will be up and down for some time yet.  Some hours or days you'll feel great, others you'll feel like curling up in a ball and sobbing all day.

Sometimes I'd wake in the morning feeling horrendous and drag myself around, on,y to find by the afternoon or evening I'd feel quite good.  Mornings were my worst.

You'll get there.  Just persevere through it all and you'll come out the other side.

Yup heaps of days were like that. I would feel good for a couple of days then feel terrible and feel like I was back at square one. I honestly thought they weren't working. But just stick with It and you will improve!

How long before you felt better?

Does there come a day when it's not all In the back of your mind. I just feel like I'll never get better and it will always be like this. It's so depressing. Mornings are def my worse.

I didn't feel like I would get better either. Mornings too were my worst. I started feeling better around week 5 and this week is week 6 and I'm feeling better again than I did last week. I still have days and moments where I feel awful but definitely stick with the meds you will start to feel better!

Yes, that day does come.  Recovery creeps up so slowly, you hardly notice it.  It doesn't just happen.  I started noticing I felt calmer, not so anxious occasionally, then I began noticing that when I was doing something ie dance class or something, I'd suggendly think 'wow I haven't thought of 'it' during that whole hour', and very slowly this happened more and more until it wasn't on my mind all the time.  I felt happier, lighter and began enjoying everything in life again.

Reckon it took about 3-4 months before I noticed things happening and then by 6 months I felt great and continued to improve for the next year.  During this time I still had ups and downs, but more so the first few months.

Most people start to feel better about 3 month, some sooner and some later.

Yes when you're in the grip of it all, you can't ever see a way out, but once it starts to lift you look at it in a totally different way.

I suffered for years and years, and when I started on SSRI's it completely changed my life.
