Hi everyone. Back at home and resting in bed. I cannt believe it was all that easy. Had the spinal. V nervous at the point (ha ha) of aving injection (was actually aving second thoughts). Sharp prick and pressure and it was over. Best thing since sliced bread. Had a bit of a snooze then talked to ops nurse abt something and nothing. Heard everything that was going on but not least bit concerned. Moved onto ward once cleared from recovery room and bed free. By day 2 was pain free in hip. Still advised 2 take paracetamol as well as prescribed pain killer. Latter has been my problem. It has given me bad headaches and nausea. Had 2 av antisickness med both day 2 and 3. Now at home and no longer on prescribed strong pain killer. Taking codine at night and first thing am. Then 2 paracetamols every 4 hrs. Can do all exercises and walking with 2 sticks. I was walking with a stick 4 over a yr b4 op and think this has strenghened muscles in both legs. Knew all the techniques 4 getting up and down stairs. Main problem is to realign pelvis 4 overcompensating pre op. Been told could take up 2 2 years. Not in my book.... hope all other new hippies r recoverying well. Xx
Hi MoDemo.
Glad to hear everything went well for you. I hope that continues.
Good to hear you are onthe other side and over the worst. Take things easy and you will do well. I am 12 weeks post and still get niggles with the ongoing healing process. All well at 8 weeks check up and next check up in September
Take care
Hi well done! There is nothing nicer than being at home! Hope you've got a good team of helper's? Each day you will be stronger! But don't over do things! Regards Amanda

Hi MoDem01 .... welcome home - happy for you that you found the operation easy - very encouraging for all our pre-op and I-am-not-sure hippies here on this forum ... well, you know what is coming and it sounds you are doing great already -
take it easy the coming days - warm hug
Well done Mo.
So glad you posted positive experience for us to read. I'm hopefully going in on Monday. Still undecided add to spinal or full GA. Just one question, were you catheterized with spinal?
Here's to a continued good recovery.
Best wishes,
Westie 😊
Hi there Westie there were six ladies on my ward all had spinal and three of us needed a catheter so it just depends. I was one of them and quite relieved I did not have to struggle to loo kruse a bedpan. Only had it for 24 hours
Hi Westie. No I wasn't. I wasn't allowed to get up so had to use a bedpan. Take some wipes and tissues in with you as I was not offered any toilet paper! x
