I have the most awful headache. It has been here all day and its like a pulsating tightness in my temples, behind my eyes and feels like my ears are going to pop. Is this a side effect or something more serious xx
Hi I've been on sertaline for 11 days now and have headaches on and off since I started them, I'm only on 50 mg so maybe higher dosage increases the headache
How long were u on 50mg for? Yes it could be a side effect or could be anxiety related or dehydrated? X
I was on 50mg from august til Jan then for 5-6 weeks was on 75mg and now up to 100mg. Not sure if its a migraine but I just want to sleep but also panicky. My vision is also a little blurry still :-( x
I also havent been sleeping very well, and feel very tired all the time x
It's probably related to u not sleeping well and over tired. I didn't sleep well last night and my head is pounding. I'm on 50mg and have been for nearly 8 wks now but going up to 100mg on Saturday. X

I reckon this is a side effect, ive been on these tablets for about a year now, i get all kinds of side effects, ringing in my ears, numbness in my head, i do sometimes get headaches. all these antidepressants give side effects, but if your worried at all, see your gp.

Hi Kirsty, sorry to hear you're unwell.. I see you've been on Sertraline since August last year, how did you feel on 50mg and 75mg? Did you have headaches? On 75mg did you still feel anxious/depressed? If you didn't get this before it's either the meds or something else. Vikki makes some good points about dehydration and not sleeping well, it could be either of these or both. Has this headache been with you since you increased to 100mg?

went up to 100mg... I get a Sertraline headache just put with it..everyone's different. You've just begun usually they start you on a lower dose and work up to 100mg.
Keep going,should subside as you get further along the line early days. These chemicals re arrange zee brain. Good luck.x
I was still very anxious on 50 and 75 simce being on 100 ive not had the chest pains or panick attacks. Ive had pins and needles but think this is part of my anxiety, I have had headaches on and off since starting the 100 but this one is very much worse. I have beem quite stressed and snappy today so im not sure if its tiredness or maybe dehydration, ivr not been eating well and havemt drank much water these past few days xx
Ive been on sertraline before for 3 years then came off in march and went back on them in august, started on 25mg thn 50mg thn 75mg how long have u been on the 100mg and do you feel better? Ive been lightheaded, blurred vision, these headaches, hot and cold chills then I go all shaky qnd trembling exactly 5 hours after taking my sertraline x
Hi Karen, sorry to hear you still have side effects after a year, I was lead to believe the side effects would wear off during the early stages of taking the drug..... I wondering if you could have a problem with the brand of Sertraline you're on!
Have you been on the same brand all year? If so it might be beneficial for you to try a different brand of the same drug.. please understand this is only an idea, I have no way of knowing it will help you.

Ah, yes it could be a combination of stress dehydration, not eating and lack of sleep, all those things won't help.... I realise this is easy to say but try to overcome these and I'm sure you'll feel better soon 😃

I found taking my dose of Sertraline in the evening (7-8pm) with food helped me.
I will try this tomorrow, I used to do this before but this time have taken it in the mornings, do u mind me asking how long uve taken sertraline and what mg? X
Hi Kirsty, I've been on 50mg of Sertraline since early December. Fortunately it's working well for me now so no need to increase..
Oh good, im glad it is working well for you, I have panic disorder and gad so was still quite bad on the 50 x

i've been on sertraline over a year now and still suffer from time to time with crippling headaches, unfortunatley it is a side effect of the medication and it does get better the longer you're on it, when i first started taking it for at least i'd say the first 6 months, (until i got the correct dosage as well, that plays a big part) i had headaches nearly every day. but it does get better than that, i started on 50, then 75 to 100 and now im on 150mg, have been since september and i can count on one hand the amount of times i've had a migrane or really bad headache attack so bear with it, it does get better :-)

Like gingermac,50,75,100... Had a headache today.Was out with friends,home now and drained been hyper/anxious.. Due meds with food soon... I'm NOT going to increase my dosage as it's more to come off... Sertraline has enabled me to go out more. Upped my mood.. Good n bad days.x
hi....ive had a nitemare on this med....now on floxatine....cos off side affects,was on this med for 6yrs,been on flox now for 4 wks....im a diffrent person now.... thank god....all ur sideaffects ur having and more.....i hate this drug.......hope it works for you tho.....good luck....
