Hi,
Why do you think you've got a UTI? What are the syjptoms? Have you checked with a doctor?
I need more information.

Dehydration MAY (MAY NOT) make you more susceptible to getting a bladder infection, but it is not a common issue (very rarely). On the other hand, BPH is caused by other means.
hi there, currently i have no real problems after a TURP in March 2015. It was the sequence of events that led to the turp(tuip in my case)...i realise now that i was going to the bathroom 2/3 times a night and the stream was weak!!! But i July 2014 i got a really vicious UTI!! the up shot was after all the Cipro and tamsulosin etc etc the uti had cleared(6 Weeks11) and that further symptoms indicated a procedeure!! at no time did any Dr or Uro indicate why!! my prostate appeared normal (DRE and scans) but i was in difficulty.. it was decided i had a blockage ...bladder neck urinary tract!!! so the best way to deal with it was a TUIP!!! quote.>>"you get a turp as well!! British NHS!! my question always was....why did this happen so fast.? did the uti enrage the urinary tract, and did the fact that i cycle race and train in hot conditions (The Algarve Portugal) encourage the uti thru poss dehydration??? or just age (68) and.... no answer worth quoting!!! the uro who examined my bits of prostate and the debris from the bladder, said you have been drinking too much beer!! i said i don`t drink beer at all! ahh then he said electrolytic drinks then? yes i said, and he commented, there you are then!!!!! amn that was about that........the depodit from beer and sports drinks encourages silt type blockage!!! does not answer my question tho`.... and after a long ride in the heat drinking regularly, i strill get a slight feeling that i need to pee all the time!! lasts a day or 2 ,then subsides? very strange, still there you go, things could be worse!!!! like another UTI!!!!! cheers all for your thoughts..Syd
I don't know about that, but some kinds of exercise can induce a non bacterial, non virus prostatitis, which might FEEL like a UTI.

Riding a bike, on your prostate, is exactly the kind of exercise I was writing about.
As for your doctor, I think he/she is a quack.

Hi Neal, many thanks for you thought`s...regards Syd.
