Sorry for the long post, I have been dealing with anxiety for ten plus years now and it seems as if I'm getting worse, I have been taking fluextine 20mg for roughly eight years and a week ago was changed to 40mg, sometimes it feels like i can't take a deep breath and my throat feels tight, I have been to my doctor and they have listened to my lungs and they are clear and my heart is in good shape but I still can't stop feeling as if something else is wrong with me.
Has it gotten any better???! I mean at any point?
I have days that are good and then days that are bad
I think that describes most of us
Yes its most of us ,good and bad dsys , i have such bad swings that it changes hourly

You will need to allow about three weeks at most for your revised dose of medication to work.
If your GP has given you the once/twice over you can trust his findings.
You sound like you are as fit as a lop

In the week I have been on the new dosage I have noticed that my appetite is getting better, last fall I had an incident where I was eating a bowl of cereal and suddenly got a feeling that my throat was closing up and felt like there was something stuck in my throat, since then I have been looking at ingredients before I eat anything, I have even gave up some of my favorite foods since then

It seems to be a shame if foods you enjoy are causing you grief eating them, you could try and steep your cereal in milk for ten mins or so before you eat, that may make you feel more positive.
Good luck with your research

Fortunately I have been able to start eating some of my favorite foods again, another issue I have is sometimes out of nowhere my chest muscles feel tight and it also feels as if I can't breathe or take a deep breath, I did mention that to my dr, he listened to my lungs and heart and everything seems to be good, if I lay on a heating pad for awhile then the tightness feeling in my chest goes away and I can take deep breaths, it is a scary feeling
Same for me Brandon. I have been taking 20mg of prozac for a few years now and after an illness in January my anxiety got really bad again so my Dr increased them to 40mg which I have been taking for just over a week now.
I am beginning to feel a little better now although I think it will take a little longer to have the full effect. I live in hope!!
Last night I had one of the worst night I have had I awhile, my back and chest muscles were tight and I felt like I couldn't breathe
Sorry Brandon for some reason I couldn't get past the first line of your post but from the sound of it you seem to have had a rotten night. I felt better the day before yesterday but yesterday I felt quite anxious again when I was shopping with my 88 year old uncle in the supermarket and was glad to get home. Because of that my stomach was really tense so I found it difficult to eat.
Like I said before we will get good and bad days, hopefully the good will start to outnumber the bad. Don't give up tomorrow may be a good day!!
I have sleep anxiety. What are u anxious about?
I don't know for sure the cause, I can be watching TV then all at once have bad anxiety
