Death of a relative 1949

Hi Everyone

I am new to this forum and am wondering if anyone is able to help me

I have a relative who died in 1949 and on the death certificate it reads

1a Subacute Bacterial Endocarditis

b Mitral Stenosis Aortic Incompetence

c Rheumatic Carditis

I hope someone is able to explain what these items are especially all being found at once

thank you for your time in advance

I think all of these together mean Rheumatic Fever, here's links to Patient UK leaflets on the topics :

1. https://patient.info/health/infective-endocarditis-leaflet

2. https://patient.info/health/aortic-stenosis-leaflet and https://patient.info/health/mitral-regurgitation-leaflet

3. https://patient.info/doctor/Rheumatic-Fever.htm

Hope this helps smile

Thanks,

So that is the general reply.- in other words am i correct in thinking The relative had Rheumatic fever at some stage and it caused the heart to fail!

The Bacterial Endocarditis says the Rheumatic Fever was within a month or so or even ongoing, it can really batter the Heart,, I'd say it destroyed his / her valves neutral
