There are far too many success stories on this forum for this to be a scam. No one on this forum appears to be promoting anything, but appears to give help for this condition. That's why wer'e here. We want help. We're getting it. We all have our choice.
As ever, I agree! And, there are different types of blepharitis and some years ago, when I went to the eye clinic, the nurses were telling me one thing and the doctors another, so I asked to see the Consultant, who explained minutely, how I should deal with my blepharitis and I seldom have a problem these days but, as you and I know, there is no cure, we just keep on top of it.
One thing that my Consultant did say, was to keep all creams etc away from my eyes, so no face creams, eye creams or make up. He is right, of course.
The ingredients appear to be different in the UK, from the US. European legislation is different from the US
Benzethonium Chloride is a preservative used in a lot of ocular products. I am allergic to it.
My Eye Clinic uses preservative free products to minimise additional problems.
And yes, large companies, look at Proctor & Gamble, for example, have to produce different varients for different countries.
I live in the UK
Dear jakestephen,
Actually, the first product with Benzethonium Chloride in it that killed the Blepharitis was an Avon antibacterial facial scrub. When I went to bu that product it had been reformulated so I looked online for what other products had Benzethonium Chloride in them.
That is how I ended up using the Wet Ones out of desperation. I don't work anywhere. It was my daughter's mother-in-law that used the Avon product.
Hope this info helps,
Lynda79
% of Blepharitis sufferers + cost of 3 month supply of wet ones = marginal profits at best. I'm not sure I follow the whole conspiracy thing. Wet ones in the US are insanely cheap. Much less than I was spending on the endless supply of eye drops that never worked.
That said...
I ran across this forum searching for some relief from the symptoms of blepharitis and out of desperation I tried the wet ones. It worked for me. I had symptoms for over ten years and today my eyes look clearer and feel better then they have in years. My husband even commented on it. I looked up the ingredients and found that the same stuff is used in eye drops so I wasn't so worried about wiping it around my eye lashes. I also wash it off after 15 to 20 minutes. Some people don't.
I don't know if it's a cure but my eyes are substantially better than they were before. I just stopped using the wipes so I'm waiting to see if the bleph comes back. I'm hoping for the best.
Hi Aimee, without wanting to contradict what I said earlier, I have googled for wet ones in treatment of blepharitis and it looks quite positive so as I will try anything once, i have ordered some from the local supermarket and am going to start using regularly, then if after a month there is no improvement I shall at least have given them a go, best wishes, Fiona
lynda79, we are all so grateful to you. Dena
I think the sale of wet ones by a company as big as Playtex is
a drop in their corporate bucket. Can't believe they would
perpertrate a scam on a blogging site from the U.K.
Ridiculous!!!!
A lot of people found relief with the use of wet ones. Can't
criticise those that want to try.....
Ah Ha.....now your posts are explained. You have a company that
is making a product for our misery!!! You don't have to name it
for it to be made available for sale......Playtex doesn't need
to participate in "cheap publicity stunts" GEEEZZZZZ
I had an awful flare a while back. My eye doc prescribed
Tobradex for me also....problem is he said I couldn't use
it over 7 days because it could cause glaucoma. It only
helped briefly when my husband put them in my eyes.
Your doc mention glaucoma?
Funny how you would jump to the rescue for playtex, wet ones.
Any more promotional BS ???
Of course Dena, how is your friend Lynda79. You two seem awful close. Work together maybe?
Of course you are dena.
We = corporate greed yeah? sorry I didn't name the company or the product, I am sure you will get around to that again!!
My two cents is
Big companies with shareholders do not turn thier noses up at profit.
I cant respond any better.
I have Blepharitis and Dry Eye Syndrome for donkeys years and every few months there is another scam or bs claim out there. I wont be a test monkey any more. I am sick of it.
Sorry for being the sceptic here. I just want people to be savvy and cautious when others shout brand names and big claims from the proverbial rooftops.
Where are the experts backing up these claims?
If I have promoted my product in any way that is not currently on the market I appologise to those lynda79 loving product naming types
Ashton, what is the parent name of the company who make the wipes?
The advertisement industry is incredibly diverse and complexed these days, companies with shareholders will stop at nothing to increase value for thier shareholders and increase the bottom line, especially big ones! Did anyone hear of GSK and bribing in china over the last few years?
Indirect advertising is not uncommon these days and there is no difference between paying college educated highly trained people to suttely brag about a product or pay for search term advertisements through facebook etc.
Did you ever see how the health insurance companies in the US operate?. I am afraid to say any more incase they come looking for me and take me out lol....
Good luck! I hope you find some relief! My blepharitis wasn't as uncomfortable for me as it is for some people but my eyes were so red it was embarrassing. I'm just happy to have finally found something that helped.
Avon? the multi level marketing company who scammed a few friends of mine over the years?
did you hear about the headlines - SEC Charges Avon With FCPA Violations. + many more
So let me get this clear you used one multi level marketing companies product then you switched to another multi level marketing companies product?.
Then you posted all over the internet with the same babble on every forum while ignoring one persons severe reaction to it?
There is no sign of you regularly making posts on any forums before you found this cure?
Here why I think you are a charlatan. MLM firms often use the same marketing firms. They hire extremely well versed sales execs and in todays market they need to be excellent and convincing.
Just like you.
I'm a y78 yo great grandma....I'm not jumping to anything.
Just trying to keep things fair. And actually I'm not funny over
anything to do with the bleph I was diagnosed with over 25 years ago
If you have a product tha twill help us bleph sufferes .....please let us
k now and we'll be happy to try it.....we're desperate. For your info
I don't own any Platex stock
faye, I tried the wet ones, and suffered no ill effects. It almost completely cured the blef, but i had to stop using them because of the accident with my right eye. I will probably use them again after I check out my eye next week. It's nice to know that this condition isn't permanent, there is help. Wish you the best, Dena
With the height of respect - Who said this is perpetrated from the UK?
How many blogging sites was this new cure posted on?
How common is blepharitis?
Why would you completely ignore the possibility of foul play?
Do you realise how corrupt some of these pharma/ promotional/ advertising companies are?
These people who found relief, have you seen their progress? Do you know them personally?
Sorry if this sounds patronising and I am doing my best not to come across as some crazy conspiracy theorist but one thing I know for sure is that where there is money to be earned and desperation there is usually snake oil salesmen lurking around.
