Delphine

Hi posted on here a few weeks ago but I have been away no wfi had my operation on the 14th April no pain in hip but when I sit down it is uncomfortable I feel that I am Sat on something told the surgeon when I went back after 6 weeks he said sit on a cushion and take pain killers anyone else have this and if so will it go thank you

Yes!  I'm 10 weeks post op and I feel like I've got a cricket ball in there lol!

I've decided it's just the scaring inside and any residual swelling / bruising as I'm sure they didn't really use a cricket ball!  It's uncomfortable but bearable and I think it is slowly improving.

Hi Paula thank you for your reply yes it is uncomfortable and it makes me feel sick so I sit on my hand to take the pressure off think it is getting better but to day has been bad take care Delphine x

Yes, Delphine it's a funny feeling isn't it -cricket ball sensation or as if you are sitting on your mobile phone

Our bodies are getting used to all this alien stuff inside us and I am sure as the weeks pass by we will adjust and not notice it

I felt as if I had a metal rod from knee to hip for first 2 weeks but that sensation has now gone

Our brains have got to get used to these new sensations

Hi Linda let's hope so thank you for your reply I will see take care Delphine

Good morning Delphine - yep ... me too ...still feel the hardware at times ... remember that it is a big surgery - muscles and tendons have been cut - bones prepared so hardware can be placed - we are doing more so muscles are being challenged - what kind of pain do you feel? is it gnawing or stabbing or just there?

try to sit on both cheeks though - I have to remind myself because I tend to favor left one - the non operated side ...so many things we need to be aware of, right?

take care and be gentle with your self ... all is well

big hug

Good morning to you it is not pain I get I feel like I have sat on something just makes me feel a bit sick I will try to remember to sit on both cheeks thank you for your reply take care Delphine

My op was 10 days after yours and I still sit on cushions as it feels like I'm sitting on bones without!

Hi Delkie,

I agree with all the answers, it's all part of the healing process, it's a wierd feeling isan't it , but it's a major opp. and our bodies need time to adjust, like you I felt as if I had grown a tail!!, make sure your chair seat is high enough from the floor, around 21 inches is about right, and also that when you sit down your hips are inline with your knee's so you bum dosen't sink down at an angle if you get my point.

So good luck, take care, it will all come good, and the chricket ball will soon change to a ping pong and then to a pea lol

Love

Lynne.

Hi Annedi very strange feeling hope it goes away

Hi Lynne thank you for your reply carnt wait for the pea apart from that and getting a little tired i am fine you take care Delkie

I am 3 weeks post op and feel like im sitting on a sausage roll. I know its still swollen around incision and its still quite sore...I watched a video of survert after having mine done..no wonder everything hurts..lol

Hi there

Just give it time- I am 4.5 weeks post op and everything is settling down nicely. Sometimes I now forget I have had anything done. I have been putting bio oil on my scar and  it is becoming less obvious - incision site pulls  a bit at times and feels a bit tight but It's all part of healing process

You will get there - every day brings small, improvements

Wishing you well
