hi I seem to have woken up this morning with what looks like an indent on the right side of my new knee. It was completely round last night but now has a dent in it. I am nearly 21 weeks post TKR. Anyone had anything similar and why this is?
! haven't had this in the knee, or connected with the knee, but I did have this happen at the side of the shin . .it was quite a deep dent, and laster for several hours. i actually took photos of it to show to the doctor and he was intrigued enough to call in another doctor to look at it. they were very interested, but didn't have a clue what it was! So, I'm afraid I'm no hlep! This was not connected to the operation at all . .ahppened a while ago.
It is a special design intended for your supper tray - just joking.
If it becomes a problem just book an appointment with the surgeon who did the job.
Actually if it was on the top of the knee it would be very handy!!! I am seeing surgeon in three weeks so may get an answer, unless it disappears by then.
If by chance it moves to the top of the knee then I would be tempted to keep it as it could have many uses, even a workbench for woodworking!! (Joke)
Seriously though, I think that you surgeon is the best person to ask about this.
I had that happen at about 5 months and it is still there. I just assumed it meant the swelling was going down.
Thanks Suzy, glad do done else had this too. It's funny when it's rounded one day snd not the next. Think you could be right about the swelling. Mind you that is the only place on the leg that has gone down!
