any one have any words of wisdom - my crown has just broken! Emergency dental service told me I would be ok overnight and that it takes a long time for an infection set in. I THINK I believe them!
Typical after everything going so well too. Has anyone had this happen to them. The emergency service said I would probably need a new crown will I need Antibiotics do you think?

Hi....I saw my consultant last week, and he said the problem with dental work and new hips is if root canal work is necessary...no problem for fillings or scale and polish etc....so replacement crown should be Ok. Hope this helps!

Hi Catrin
My surgeon told me that before any dental treatment was to go ahead I was to tell my dentist I need to be on antibiotics for a week BEFORE treatment. As this is an emergancy I suggest that you ask for some the day you have the treatment just to make sure. I really would not risk not having any. If they refuse go to your GP and ask them to give you some and explain the reason your dentist won't give you any.
