Depressed about aging/the future

So lately I've been having depressing thoughts about getting older and losing my youth. I'm 15 which makes it irrational, but I don't know what to do. All I dwell on is how time passes and it's inevitable it's gonna happen. I also worry about losing my family. What's wrong with me and why did I just suddenly start thinking this way. All I ever think about is how everything ends and there's no point to life. It's full of pain and misery. I just feel so lost and it's so overwhelming. I have no motivation to do anything. I feel like I'll never stop feeling this way. Ugh what do I do?

This is called an ah ha moment. So interesting that moment you realize you are seperate from your parents. Then get scared things will one day change. I remember myself passing through that. Ooh its an intense time but needed to grow as well. Im 50 now basically and i can tell you it will okay. Things have to change but at the same time so will you. You will grow into an adult, and you will be fully capable of working and providing for yourself. As it just occurs it appears less scary then the worrying you are experiencing. You need to get your education. Thats the seed you plant and all you need to focus on now. This is such a massively common exoerience im not sure it is part of an illness. Saying that the part of you that feel empty and gloomy might be depression and seeing a therapist to be assessed might be a very good idea. Better to manage this all now so its out of the way whilst you prepare to become an adult.. Your brain isnt fully formed yet happily so it is more flexible to learn amd change.

Thank you so much for your reply, it kinda helped

Elise,  what Lisa said is very true! When I was your age are you still worry all the time about one day losing my  parents and I don't know what I would do! How could I live without them? What's going to happen to me when I'm older? All those sorts of things would  torture my mind. But I can tell you now that things do change over time. I am actually 60 years old now  and everything does seem to work out well. Like Lisa said, you grow up and become an adult and if you have your own family one day, that is where are most of your attention will go, you will be so busy building your own life.

As far as getting older, it just happens so gradually that it's truly not really a bad thing.

if you stay active and healthy through your life you will be happy and that's the most important thing. Don't do what I did and think too far into the future because  all the " "what if's ".  Will drive you crazy! What if's don't mean anything because they are not reality so please don't scare yourself.

The problem with thinking too far into the future is that you're not enjoying today! You're thinking about things that haven't happened yet and once today is gone, you can't get it back! You have a long life to live so enjoy it and appreciate  every single day.

I just lost my mom this past February. As a child I thought I couldn't live without my mom, but when I did lose her recently, it was more natural  because she was ill and 89 years old. Of course I was sad but because I'm an adult it was easier to accept.

When you become an adult your thinking changes.  And you learn to except certain things unlike when you're a child. Trust me, you will see this gradually as you get a little older. You could even talk to a counselor about this that would probably help a lot!

remember to take things as they come, enjoy life by doing things you enjoy, and remember getting older  it's just a natural part of life that we all have to accept but we can make the best out of any situation by keeping healthy, having some good friends,

and remember to laugh! Hope you feel better soon .

Thank you so much!!!!

 One more thing else....

if it anytime you're feeling overwhelmed about things, you can go to YouTube and search for meditations that really calm you down! You can search for meditation for  anxiety,  meditation for getting a good nights sleep, depression etc. just choose the ones you like, put some earbuds in, lie down and listen.  There are many of them to choose from. They have really helped me .

Life is beautiful even though sometimes bad things happen. It's definitely worth living!

if you take a walk near a park or where there's nature, you can see and appreciate the beauty all around.  enjoy every day of your life   πŸ˜€πŸŒ»πŸŒΉπŸŒΈπŸŒ»

Thank you so much, you're a big help!!!
