Had cateract surgery on both eyes in August 2017. Paid extra for Restor lens. Depressed because I’m still having lot of wavy glare . Preventing me from wanting to drive again??

I had cataract surgery a couple of months ago; gradually, the glare is getting better.
Yellow-tinted driving glasses help reduce the glare of oncoming headlights for me.
What does your doctor say?
Do you think its worth getting a second medical opinion?
I hope that these issues go away or become tolerable for you so that you can do what you wish -- eg driving.

Thank you Ed. I am suppose to see my regular eye dr. Last of June , but think I will call this week to see her. The floaters got better and spider web effect but the glare is bad while driving . After paying $6000.00 extra for restore lens this is depressing right now . I’m praying God will have mercy and clear them up!

Hi Janice - is your vision good during daytime?
Would you know which Restor lens you had implanted? I had read earlier versions of the Restor caused more glare/halo issues than the newer Restor 2.5 lens.
Janice, you mentioned having floaters. What do you mean by that? The artifacts from IOL implant include glares, spiderweb, and rings. Floaters are NOT one of them. I was having horseshoe tears on my retina, resulting in seeing floaters. The horseshoe tear could lead to retinal detachment which in turn could lead to blindness. Undergoing cataract surgery while having horseshoe tear makes patients even more prone to retina detachment, I was told. Google "horseshoe tear" for more details.
Hi Sue.An the glare is day and night . I can see but with a glare . I paid for best lens. $6000.00 extra. ACRYSOFIQ RESTORMULTIFOCAL IOL.I still see a little black something around my eyelashes. They told me the floaters( mine looked like baby flies? Would finally go away?
Hi Robert these floaters that I experience are not tiny black dots . They look like baby flies in like spider webs? I don’t see them anymore but still seeing something black around my eyelashes! I don’t like it . The glare is bad too. Waiting for call from the doctor office hopefully tomorrow! Will report back!
Hi Janice- you mention your surgery was in August? I am not sure the floaters (if that is what they are) will go or not. Hopefully you will be able to have your surgeon examine your eye (not just a phone call). I had floaters even prior to surgery (more in one eye than the other). I still have them - at first (likely due to cataract being removed) I noticed them more but brain tunes them out. On a white background I will see them.
You will want to have an opthamologist examine your eyes to see if something else other than floaters is going on. Vision should be clear during day. It’s normal with a multifocal to experience nighttime glare and halos - some of that should have settled by now.
Insist on a visit when the office calls.
Janice, What Restor have you implanted? Is that Restor 2.5 or 3.0 or 3.5? I was told the +2.5 has less artifacts than the higher ADD ones.

The floaters won't go away. The only way to reduce their impact is to get YAG laser treatment. It's painless. Large floaters can be reduced in size creating small insignificant shadows against your retina so they become less noticeable. Sometimes they can be zapped away.
I have a few floaters in my left eye. I had YAG treatment, but the doctor couldn't find the floaters. So what I thought was a bothersome floater was in fact probably too small for the doctor to find. It's the shadow cast from the floater that you are seeing. I just accept it and get on with life. The doctor didn't charge for his efforts.
