Got sick with depression and anxiety January 2016 Dr started me on low dose Prozac liquid and xanax still feel awful never could go up on dose because it caused the anxiety to be worse here it is September 2017 still feel awful he is retiring in October many new Dr. will be better I've lost all interest in everything feel like my life is over!
Hello there...so sorry that you are having such a hard time. Hope you can find another doctor soon. I have had trouble all through out my life with depression and anxiety. At times was on Klonapin and Prozac. Now I am on lexapro. Over the years I have had to change meds and adjust the dosage. I know the feeling of hopelessness but have always been able to turn to my spiritual life for strength. Don't know if any of this will help you but I can tell you that you are not alone. Adl.
Hi Jacqueline - sorry to read of your situation. Perhaps the new doctor will be the fresh eyes on the problem that you need. If the meds are not working or make you feel worse when dosage upped, I'm surprised your current doc has not prescribed another med. There are a plethora to choose from because what works for one patient may not work for another. Tell the new doc exactly what has been happening and how you are feeling and if he/she doesn't suggest another med, you suggest it. Meanwhile hang in there - there is an answer for you, sometimes it just means trial and error.
