I have been taking citilopram for 4 years now but I'm still battling with my depression and anxiety. My doc put me on mitrazipine but I did not like the side affects that came with this. I recently started taking propranolol 10mg twice a day for anxiety. It has calmed my anxiety but has made my mood go down and I'm so tired and can't get motivated to do anything. I feel sorry for my partner as I do think think he can cope with the way my moods are. I don't think the new tablets are helping so have decided to wean myself of them. I have now cut down to half a tab in the morning and half in the evening.
Does anyone have any advice on weaning of these or has anyone been in the same situation.
Any help or advice will be greatly received x
Ive been on citilopram and mirtazapine I cant take propranolol cos I have asthma.
Both had there good points and bad points
Everyone has a different reaction to medication
I would go back and speak to you doctor and perhaps some councelling would help

Thank you for your reply.
Citilapram I don't seem to have a problem with and seems to work well for me apart from a few blips I have every month. The mitrazapan made me gain weight so in the end made my depression worse and they would zap me out so much that the next day I would feel like a walking zombie.
Docs have said many times that I should consider CBT. I went private for this and found it didn't really help that much and it just frustrated me that I was unable to do things that normal people take on every day without any struggle.
I just worry that my partner is struggling with my issues which then makes me more anxious and depressed. It's like a never ending circle

Weaning off these meds should always be done under the supervision of your doctor, Emma.
You can have bad withdrawal effects if you wean off too quickly, so be careful.
Please go back to your doctor for advice. Love Tess
