Depression symptoms

Can depression and anxiety cause physical symptoms?

very much so…and quite a few in fact. depression and anxiety typically go hand in hand so the list is pretty long when it comes to physical symptoms; can be overwhelming. it can be so severe you’re unable to get out of bed.

yes it can! I have had the worst time over the last 7 weeks and despite numerous tests coming back clear I still find it hard to believe what I’m getting is just anxiety. but you’re not alone.

what are your symptoms guys? x

yes it can , i struggle a whole year after having my baby, the symptoms can vary, i felt dead inside and out, i couldnt smile, my body would get cold, chest pain, heart racing, very negative thoughts, spaced out, memory loss, shutting down, loss of apetite, weightloss, overwhelm very easy, couldnt get out of bed, mind racing, detachment from myself, insomnia very bad, bad digestive issues,i cry alot like alot and let me tell u how the list goes on, some of these symptoms are gone but they so come back around the time my period and ovulation approaches and let me tell ya its not easy because i now know whats happening so i dont panic as much as i use to i just go through it and wait it out but its very hard to deal with and now with the coronavirus around its not making anything better

leg aches, headaches, lots of sadness and tears tingling in my fingers and depersonalization/brain fog

oh hell yes. your mind controls your body so if your mind is sick for too long it will convince your body theres something wrong as well. we usually bring this on ourselves by not eating because we have so much anxiety we lose our appetites, or dehydrate our bodies by not drinking enough water. my anxiety usually includes stomach problems, acid reflux, possibly and lump or bubble feeling in the throat, restlessness, sleep problems, body aches, muscle weakness and the list goes on

agree!

few of my symptoms too

me too, acid reflux makes my anxiety very crippling, am scared of medication so i dont take them and am suffering with acid reflux bad and ibs

i also get this pressure feeling in my head like my head is going to explode and i cant do anything!!

i would get a prescription for ant-acid and eat some carbs, cheese and breads. nothing like tomato sauce or anything with acid. once i started eating and gaining weight, my ibs symptoms and acid reflux subsided substantially. but you have to get put on correct anti anxiety meds first and get that under control. you are going to have to take pills in order to put your brain back in check, then you can work on other stuff. a good psychitrist is key to feeling better.

hi sam, I noticed you said since you gave birth a year ago.. I had my daughter 4 years ago and was fine but since my second child 7 weeks ago I’ve been a mess with health anxiety! physical symptoms are awful arent they.. I find it scarier because its only happened since giving birth and I’m convinced it’s from that! are you the same?

that’s pretty much the same as me. I get all of those including palpitations aswell. which really suck and don’t help
and horrible adrenaline rushes where my blood runs cold and a feeling of complete dread it’s horrible! I feel your pain.

I get that head pressure feeling too and it’s just so horrible isn’t it. you cant concentrate and it makes you feel like your head weighs a thousand pounds and makes you feel so off.
