Depression - venlafaxine

Have tried several, just give me anxiety or make me feel like a zombie.

Looking for anyone else who has tried venlafaxine as it seems to work for some.

Dr says i have unipolar depression, no signs of bipolar.

I have taken venlafaxine and mirtazapine since July 2015, and they work very well for me. I have my life back and I'm happy.

Hi Ann

Just wondered if you have had a look at any of the posts in the Venlafaxine forum? You may find some answers there?

Venlafaxine worked for me for a while, bit then I had a major set back and the GP made the decision to change my meds. It was a bit rough when I went through the tapering process to change.

The main thing is that you find something that works for you and you feel positive benefits from.

Good luck - Shaz

Dr tells me as i take warfarin i cannot have venlafaxine so i guess thats the end of that. Thanks for all help

Well that is rather strange because Summer 2015 - last Summer i was on Warfarin an i also take Venlafaxine so i am puzzled about that as it is the first time i have heard that , i no longer take Warfarin because it didn't really benefit me , i am now on a 3rd blood thinner , i have never had a problem with the mix of medication i take - am on alot for physical an mental health , i also take Mirtzapine at night , Venlafaxine morning an night ,

Hi Ann. I was on venlafaxine and it did seem to help at first but then like all the antidepressants I've tried they stopped working. My psychiatrist wouldn't listen to me when I told him I had near constant depression and my anxiety was getting worse so I just went off it cold turkey. Word of advice, if you do try it and decide not to take it taper off VERY slowly. Hopefully your psychiatrist will help you with this.
