Well i have always had this but it used to be during my anxiety attacks only, But now its every day! Just last night driving home I started to feel like my eyes were floating out of my body and once i got home i felt like i was completely out of my body , i still kind of feel that way just not as bad, i dont know what to do about it, i know they say to focus on something else to pull your self back in to your body, so i played toys with my little brother but i was not fully back into my body until i woke up the next morning, and the other weird part is that i was coming home from a wonderful date, so its not like something bad or like i had a stressful day or anything , i just am starting to seriously give up and now at these time during these anxiety attacks and these derealization attacks ( as i call them ) some times i feel like id rather be dead, I just want all of the help i can get , ive been doing everything to keep my GAD down as much as possible but nothing has really worked, please i just need some help, Thank you.
Hey! I get derealization everyday as well, it's a scary and annoying thing. Don't give up! Derealization occurs because of many things. The most common thing is just simply because you're anxious. When you sleep at night you're not anxious, which is why you wake up feeling okay. Getting distracted is hard, but you truly have to be fully distracted. I usually get distracted by watching YouTube or talking to people. Doing simple things like holding a piece of ice, hitting something hard, and writing, are examples on using a different part of your brain to "regain consciousness"
sometimes I just hold an object in my hand for hours. It tricks your brain into thinking about not dropping it.
