has anyone experienced derealization with zoloft? I’m on 50mg 11 weeks this upcoming wednesday.Celexa never made me feel this way its horrible
hi jess , just curious why you switched from celexa , im on week 5 of sertraline after switching from celexa
i was on 40mg and suddenly in february my anxiety cane back...I loved celexa but for some odd reason my anxiety would come back around that month so ny dr switched me to zoloft
i had a good year on celexa 20 mg then owt of nowhere at xmas i started getting terrible anxiety upped to 30mg but was getting worse so dr switched aswell. its terrible waiting for the medication to work
yes it is.How are you feeling on this medication so far?
alot better than i did , seem to be getting better than il have a bad time with it again, like 1 step forward 2 back , wel get there in the end
i have delrealization and deperaonalization but i had it before i started zoloft. it comes and goes and is mild now ive been on zoloft for 8 months - i had to increase when i felt it coming back. it it such a horrible feeling and i find when i focus on it more my anxiety heightens and then it gets worse. you could need a dosage increase? or if youre see a psychologist then working on the anxiety which should then hopefully help it.
I would say the derealization is more from the anxiety than the meds, keep on with the meds maybe increase. Speak to your gp. It just takes time to work. Hang in there. 😊
how long did it take for it to work with you? some people are saying wait 12 weeks this week will be my 11th
i was feeling good week 7/8 then my anxiety came back some people are saying wait 12 weeks so im waiting on that
i just talked to my dr she said to increase to 100 but im bot sure what do cus several people say it takes 12 weeks
i didnt want to increase either but im so glad i did. time frames are different for everyone, have you had derealisation the whole time you were on zoloft or just recently?
just recently
from my personal experience i would say to increase if you feel comfortable. 100mg is still a low does and i found within a week i felt so so much better
yes,i took my 100mg for the first time hopefully no side effects!!
i actually experienced dp/dr before any medication.Thats what gave me anxiety
same here, was so scary until i figured out what it was. sounds silly but i used a rubberband on my wrist that i was use to flick my wrist to bring me back to the moment and focus less on the dp/dr.
hope you feel better very soon :)
thank you sophie same to you:)
Hi Jess
I also suffer with derealisation as a symptom of my anxiety.
I'm on week 7 of Sertraline and last week I had a great week.....from Monday to FridayI felt back. However on the Monday I went up to 150mgs (from 125) and on Friday I started feeling really detached and then my anxiety came back. The detachment seems to have got worse and I find when I'm talking to people that them talking about normal life sounds weird....like it makes sense to me, but at the same time it feels unreal.
I wondered if you can you relate to that at all and do you think its the increased dose thats causing it? I've also had diarrhoea for 5 days straight.
After a great week last week I'm feeling pretty desperate right now. x
hi samantha have you been on sertaline before, im no expert but jumping up to 150mg in 7 weeks is alot i can imagine for the brain to handle??
