Has any one had this problem? Is it posible after not drinking it could correct itself?
Sue, as far as my DR is concerned, no, but that might just be me. When I have some down time away from booze, he has checked for diabetes as well as liver and kidney. So far so good.
Please get some tests done.
When drinking your liver is 100% bussy breaking down the alcohol in your bloodstream, at this moments it doesn't use the natural glucoses reserves.
This fase is called hypoglykemie.
Does the diabetes disapear, this is in general a no, stabelizing, yes it does.
Stop drinking for sure can make all the difference between, diabetes using medecines or a diabete not using medecines.
In case of diabetes, a regular eating pattern is nessecerely, when drinking mostly people don't have a regularity in this.
100% sure is, you should contact your GP and demand like Tim said tests for diabetes, liver and kidney's.
Last, I'm not a medicine, nor do I have any medical training, my boyfriend is diabete, and all information is second hand.

I replied to this message earilier before I saw my GP today.
What I did find out was that all 3 of the tests came back good for me. 0 bad.
WOW ! I was scared, he only upped my blood pressure meds a bit.
This doesn't mean that damage isn't happening, it just might mean I have a higher tolerance and not a licence to abuse.
I still have to cool it as who knows when the tides will turn for the worst.
We all keep our fingers crossed or better still, keep the fight up against cravings.
