Hi, my doc just diagnosed balanitis caused by Streptococcus agalactiae (from swab test), and prescribed antibiotics and Elocon corticosteroid cream.
I have previously had frenuom tear and frenum remuval operation, after operation there were swelling and now the tip of penis has turn white/pale color.
what do u guys think of that diagnosis?
Hi Joe see how it goes if it doesn't improve then go back to your doctor and get a referral to a dermatologist. You could have couple of things going on the pale glans could be lichen sclerosus? This may have caused you problems with your frenulum before. the groin could perhaps be fungal?
started with treatment, steroid cream took the redness away and also made foreskin better. but for now stopped using it as I dont think it will any effect on the white area.
but regarding the white area - maybe its just the stretch mark, I think first it appeared when I had frenulum tear and frenulum grow back much shorter and make whole thing really tight. Other possible causes: candidas (Jock itch)? lichen sclerosus? inflammaton ? vitiligo?
Currently I have had bacterial test on penis, what other kind of test should I do? I think its possible to do fungal and probably the last one is biopsy
regarding the groin area should I use travocort (also contains steroid ) or clotrimazol (only fungal) ? and if I have fungal n my groin area is it likely that I have on penis groin as well? Should I test?
so I did additional tests bacterial: neg fungus: neg anaerobic bacterial: positive, 3+ amount, as it was mix, they could not determine exact type.
my doc prescribe me Metronidazole for 10 days as those bacteria should not be part of normal microflora. Should I take? Previous antibiotic has cleared the redness, now just those pale/white spots. Not sure if I have any real symptoms left. Just worried about drug side effects PS. Also got rid of red spots on groin area using antifungal creme
