Hi, last year I was diagnosed with a DVT in my arm, by the time they found out I had multiple clots in my lungs. I now have breathing problems. I also have damage to my arm from the clot and have been diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome. While i was recovering, sadly my brother passed away, we we're very close. A short time after that I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I'm not sure what all the symptoms are, but I have severe headaches and a lot of pain in the morning. I can go out on my own because I'm very dizzy and have electric shocks going off in my head. Pain all over and many other complaints. I feel I went into hospital last year with a sore arm and weighed 9st and came out with damaged lungs, severe nerve damage to my arm and weighing 12st 6lb. And the fact that I lost my best friend ( my brother ) has me feeling like I've crashed and burned.

Feeling for you precious...hope being diagnosed with Fibro helps...it takes sooooo darn long sometimes, hope you get on the right meds and feel better soon, there's not much we can do about or past apart from remembering it.. but we can do plenty about our future,,take control of you in every area..be strong and try and be positive..no one ever knows how you feel, but you..that's for sure...be blessed, :-) xx we are all here for each other ....
Hardly surprising after that lot you def have had more than fair share
fibromyalgia is less than crps in how it will affect you but a combination of the two plus the remenants of dvt etc
I'm presuming it was steroids that caused your weight gain
What adadvice have you had regarding fibromyalgia
Thanks Christine, I feel like im complaining all the time, I feel sorry for my partner. Every time i have a pain i dont know if its fibro or if im taking another blood clot, ( i forgot to mention that i have genatic blood disorder that can cause clots). I know i need to relax and take more control, its just good to hear it sometimes....
I was on HRT because i had a hysterectomy when i was 35. I am going through an enforced menopause, and that combined with pregablin and ampitryptiline has added to my weight, that and stopping smoking. The advice i got from my specialist was to buy 2 books from amazon and read up on fibro. im such a complicated case, i find it difficult to be positive all the time.......
What a moron keep on site ask the questions
join fibromyalgia groups

proper massage once past pain barrier love it
reflexology brilliant
psychologist to discuss how xxxxxxx awful you feel

natural meds
learn what doesn't need doing
I love walking but not for first 300 yards omg I can moan and whiny but once warmed up I feel GREAT however when I Get home I'm in PAIN. But I need to walk to keep other health probes in control
hope that helps
Sorry to hear your problems Claire, really hope things improve for you. I have only been diagnosed with fibromyalgia today and I've googled everything to see what the hell it is! Could cry, I'm in so much pain constantly and I can't even run round the park with my 3 year old daughter. When they said there's no known cure the bottom fell out my world 😞 xx
Have a great day today precious..:-) xxx totally agree about partners . I have such an awsome support with my husband...it does make a difference..:-) xxx
Totally agree with Gillian, Clair, there is nothing like a heated pool..even if you just walk around...sooo good for circulation too...excellent excercise for us with Fibro and other issues...it's sooo gentle..you will find soooo much help on the site..avagooday..:-) xxxxxxx
where i live i wouldn't even know where to go to get a heated pool. The closest thing would be my bath, and thats a no no because i can't get in or out of it. I have just started to see a clinical psychologist but the most of the time i was in tears lol, hopefully we will be able to get a plan of action together soon. I will do my best to walk more but at the moment i have poor me syndrome. lol
So sorry to hear that another one bites the dust to this god awful illness. my advice would be, not to google too much. it will only put yr head away. Better to talk to people who have it, they are the ones who know best.
Thanks for the reply. You are right. Google frightens the life out of me! When I told my work I had it yesterday they just looked as if it was a bug that would go away within a week...If only 😞 I am in agony constantly. I can't even walk round the shops
That's ok to have"poor me syndrome" why not...hot water bottles lots of them are good too. Sorry you have no pools in your area..
a Clinical psychologist would just make things worse for me, actually seeing one did..as well meaning as it all was...relaxation is really good......you have a real pain with a real name..a pain clinic would be good..if you could get to one..the keys they give you are great..hope things get much better precious, be blessed:-) xxx
Thanks Christine, yeah I've been referred to a pain clinic. Just a matter of waiting for app
My psychiatrist is good but not with fibromyalgia because let's face it it isn't his speciality
he wrote to my gp in his report about me in June bright sunny days ( has a huge positive effect)that I didn't appear to have mobility problems or in pain !!! This was taken from an observation from the waiting room to his room
I can have quite a few weeks in warm sunny weather when I'm considerably less stiff less grumpy reduced pain (unless you poke me ) then it starts again esp affected by sunlight
I felt v good in Egypt as v dry and warm but I loved the warm baths I could swim move felt good but I over did it as when I got out back into cold English weather I was in pain !!
When I first got it omg when my son climb on my legs when I tried to go upstairs or do all the jobs I had to change so much learn dust doesn't kill you potatoes taste nicer with skins on carrots cook while, ironing reduced to bare minimum, hot water bottles are brilliant
if u r bad order in from shops
in other words it's horrible don't let anyone scorn or think you are pulling a fast one
You are right being in the warmth helps. I have also started online shopping which is great but I loved trailing the shops for new clothes and shoes, it was all I did.
I am finding work quite difficult as it's full time and with a 3 year old to get organised in the morning then it is a mammoth task! My job is mostly sitting as I am a bookkeeper but I don't know what is worse, sitting for a period and not being able to walk or standing for a period and needing a seat! Catch 22!
Also, high heels are now a thing of the past and everytime I'm invited to a night out I feel like a tramp going along with all the other women looking so elegant and I'm sitting in my flats!
Love to you all <3
