Hey so I recently had my first herpes outbreak. I was very depressed about it in the beginning, but want to let everyone on here know that it really isn’t that bad. It was very painful in the beginning but after a few Days of being on antiviral and being able to go to the bathroom because I was so constipated the pain lessened tremendously. I have had ulcers now that were very bad in the beginning that have basically healed up after almost two weeks. Only thing I have left to do now that I’m scared about is to tell the man I’ve been with for almost five months about my condition. I’ve researched a lot about it and know my facts and transmission rates so hopefully he will be supportive and understand that even he may have transmitted it to me unknowingly. Any extra advice on what to say? I’m a 16 year old girl by the way with a 19 year old guy and am worried he may not want to risk getting herpes if he dosent already have it. Anyways any advice thanks this is my first post on here
have you had any sexual partners before him?. i’d definitely have both of you go get tested. a new infection won’t show up yet on a blood test until about 3 months so if yours is negative and his is positive, you’ll know he most likely gave it to you.
yes i have 10 other partners before him. did not use condoms with 4 of those people, but once again this was a long time ago and its more likely i got the infection from him than them. there is always that possibility that it was dormant in my system for sometime though aswell. hopefully he will be open to getting tested when i have the talk with him about it. We haven't been intimate in over two weeks now because i have been very careful and in too much pain anyways. I pray he will be supportive and understanding of my situation and listen to the facts i have about it.
