hello everyone not sure any one will read this but ive recently been diagnosed with hsv 2 and i guess it still hasnt sunken in yet i cant believe i actually have it and i know it is for life which makes me feel infected and dirty now like nobody will want me cuz im contagious i really dont know what to do i honestly never want to have sex again out of fear of ruining some ones life im a 26 year old female have never had a outbreak just now i noticed my lady bits are red and irritated but no bumps or any pain im just wondering if anyone that is also in the same boat can tell me that ill be okay and its not the end of the world … so far its looking that way im just sad i was reckless and now im not the same
How did they diagnose you?
If you’ve never had an outbreak, it’s possible you could have oral HSV-2. HSV-2 outbreaks are more frequent and far more severe in the genital region. If contracted orally, those infected could have very mild, possibly no outbreaks. Same can be said of those with genital HSV-1.
what were your igg levels? anything below 3.5 has a high rate of a false positive. get the western blot done to confirm the results since you are asymptomatic.
