Diagnosis by reflexes and heel toe, quack or what?

Hi everyone, I have two doctors that believe I have ms so I was sent to local ms clinic (U.S.). The dr. Proceeds to check reflexes, romberg and eyes. Then he says I don't believe you have ms but let's do mri. Can he tell just from that it only took 5 min. Have walking difficulties in flares along with all the usual ms symptoms except for eyes, hearing and seizure

Thanks

The first doc I saw diagnosed me that way. I didn't even have any symptoms at the time (1st attack, transverse myelitis-like was brief and over with). y

I've had symptoms off and on for 6 years, no one has actually made an effort to check very well. You would think they would at least have to watch me walk. I've taken a list of symptoms and they don't even consider them when I do. My walking difficulties go from moderate to severe and never go away.

short answer is no he cannot dx from that check, the only real way is to have a head and spine MRI along with a spinal tap. If you have a cold or flu anywhere near the time of the test then reschedule as the spinal tap will be void. Go to a neurologist soonest

Thanks for the response. I have an mri appointment January 5, 2016, keeping fingers crossed. If this neuro doesn't do anything I'll be going to Cleveland clinic!
