Hi people,
Recently just been to a phycatrist and I've been given 2mg of diazepam or however you spell it to be taken when "when things get bad" but as I'm constantly in a derpersonalized dreamy unreal state, when do I take this I have a inside panic nearly through out the whole day, I might be able to calm for like a couple minutes or moments but that's all, I am abit scared to take it Ive heard good things and bad things just wondering if anyone else has had this and taken it also the phycastrist did say to use this because I'm recently on citalopram 20mg and that needs to get into my system ect,
Any advice would be great thanks!
You should talk with your doctor on how to take diazepam. It’s “very important” for you to follow what he says. In any event you should not have to take this particular medication for longer than a month. Best wishes for you!
Hi Eddy, I am currently on 40mg of citalopram and during an acute episode of anxiety my doctor prescribed diazepam. I did use it occasionally but I didn't want to rely on it. It did take "the edge" off and did help. I did the carry the diazepam in my pocket at all times which, for some reason, helped even if I didn't take it.
I think I am suffering with depersanalized state but not been diagnosed. I feel detached from just about everything and question everything. It is scary but I am determined to overcome it xx
Hi Louise I think we have spoke before
I'm just abit unsure when to take it as Ive never before and I want to know what it does ect
We all overcome it I think we just need time which isn't good, positive thinking is the hardest thing to do as my thoughts are rushing constantly but I will get there eventually x
Hi eddy I have depersonalisation and I have tried diazapam before, all it does is make you more relaxed and not care about your anxiety & depersonalization, but only take them if you really need too. I know exactly what you are going through x
Hi. I'm on the exact same dose of both drugs. Definitely take them both. The citalopram did cause my anxiety to get worse around the 2 week mark and combined with the diazepam is now settling down. Hopefully within a month you will feel much better then you can stop the diazepam. It's been a lifesaver for me. Good luck xx
Eddy
You will never know if it is going to work if you do not try.
However you do take Citalopram at 20mg, that will take about four weeks, they may increase that medication then.
I take the same dose of Citalopram 20mg and I have been on them for many years now, they do work for me
