I have been advised to have a diagnostic injection in my hip to clarify whether it it definitely my hip causing my groin and thigh pain or if it is from my spine. Did any of you hippies have this ??
Yes I had rthr nearly year ago still loads of pain had injection in hip in May which has wore off now so had diagnostic injection and they said if pain goes its my hip if not its nerve/muscle most of pain went now gotta go tumoro for bone scan so hoping they find wats wrong

Yes, I had two diagostic tests done. The first one was inconclusive. The second one made a difference and we called it positive. Considering that I have back problems as well, spinal stenosus, herniated, degenerative disc disease, etc.
They didn't want to do surgery even though I was bone-on-bone in my left hip. I had to jump through hoops to get the surgery. I'm so glad I did.

No, the bone on bone X-ray was enough
No i didnt. But one of my physio suggested it . I then saw the ortho surgeon and i told her what had been suggrsted she told me... look at the xray i was bone on bone. Goid luck if you choose to fo do o hope its favorable fir you
No one suggested this for me. My X-ray showed my hips to be near collapse and they had no idea how I was even walking about without at least a stick of maybe even a walker so there was no question that I needed both hips replaced and things moved very quickly once I had had the X-ray. I was in having surgery within weeks.
I hope that you get some conclusive answers soon so that treatment can be arranged for you.

The surgeon gave me all the info for thr but wants to be clear about extent of my spinal problems. I have extensive arthritis in spine. Also gave me time to explore how any impact of surgery n recovery may affect work$recovery

No, me neither - xray showing bone on bone (twice ) made me candidate for THR .. no hoops ... I am beginning to think how blessed I am that the surgery date scheduling was more up to me than the system -
