Started on 37.5 mg for over a week and felt fine... had a few ups and downs, was then increased to 75mg and two hours later I thought i had just been given a shot of adrenaline . I was in hospital so they settled it down with ativan and a bunch of other sedatives but i was still shakey the rest of the day. They want me to continue on but this time split my doses to twice a day. I have severe GAD and usually have to take benzos daily with anti depressants just to function.
A couple years ago when I decided to try antidepressants again, the doctor prescribed me this because my sister had been on it and it worked great for her. But in my case it was horrible. Crap made my anxiety 10x worse than what i was even dealing with and tried to wait it out but decided it wasnt worth it and it shouldnt be making me as anxious as i was. As for you, your body may just be adjusting to it so try and hang in there and see how you feel after a couple of days, but if it continues id definately switch to another. Good Luck!
Seems like your dosage got increased too quickly. When i took Effexor, they waited a full 2 weeks before they raised my dosage. Its not uncommon to feel the symptoms you described when they raise the dose but my question is why they did it so quickly if you had only been in it a week, seems hardly time enough to get into your system and work to its full effectiveness. I assume the doctor knows what he is doing but i am sure you are feeling the way you are feeling because they are rushing things. And your benzos are not helping ? I think you are going to have to wait it out, and wait until you get use to he new dosage, may take a week or so. You could call the doctor and ask what to expect and tell him what you are experiencing and see what he says.
