Did I have my gall bladder taken out for no reason?

I NEED HELP......PLEASE! It all started with pelvic pain. The OBGYN did pelvic ultra sound it was very painful and nothing showed up Then it went to pain at top of right rib I couldnt eat because of the pain after 4 days of excruciating pain I wentt to the E R they did a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound I had 2 small pelvic cysts but nothing they were concerened about. They questioned posible ulcer? I was told to take Pepcid. Then I was sent for hidascan it showed an over active gall bladder .....also leg numbness and pain started in right thigh with back pain I had an mri it shows bulging disc L3 L4. Not bad enough for surgery .I had gall bladder surgery due to the Hidascan . l also had neck surgery acdf C6 C7 in December too ....2 weeks before gall bladder surgery.

Now.....6 months later..... Im having severe menstrual bleeding I was put on meds to control bleeding and peivic pain She recommended Hysterectomy .New ultrasound on pelvis was done . It showed nothing ,then I had pelvic biopsy and it showed no endometriosis. Bloodwork showed no menopause yet. Also have pain again where gall bladder was taken out and soreness all down both sides also bloating conspitation diarrhea swollen feet and hands . Had new ultrasound today find out results next Thursday. The numbness in my thigh has never left for 6 months I started steriod shots for pain andbeen on hydrocodone since surgery .This I feel is somehow related to rib (gallbladder pain) They both started at the sane time. Anyone out there have anything similar or can enlighten me on any of this? I need relief !

Any drug containing codeine constipates. Maybe ask GP to prescribe another analgesic or a laxative taken at same time.

It sound as though you've more than one issue going on, so you must be feeling awful. You've not had the chance to recover from one surgery before you're having another. It takes a while to get over any surgery and cholecystectomy is no different. I'm still very tender on rh side and get bloating too. You've been unlucky in that everything seems to have developed at the same time. I had open cholecystectomy in February followed in March by a liver resection and I'm still watching what I eat: no alcohol, no spicy foods, smaller meals and I still eat a low fat diet.

I had a hysterectomy a number of years ago for heavy periods and I can truthfully say it wasn't as bad as the cholecystectomy I had in February. I was up on my feet and home after three days. I would take your surgeons advice and have the hysterectomy as many of your symptoms could stem from that. Of course it means another general anaesthetic and surgery soon after the others, but you can't go on like this.

Take care and try to stay positive. Good luck!

Thank you so much for responding and sharing your experience . I'm really trying to watch what I eat now. And no soda for week and a half now. I work 7 pm to 7 am so this is hard to give up when I need caffine. My ultrasound was normal but showed a fatty liver . I am going back to do blood work on Thursday.
