Diet suggestions....

Hello everyone,

I need some advice. I recently passed a stone that was 7.5mm, and it was stuck for a few days making it painful and hard to urinate. This happen to me 3 years ago, though it was bigger then. I don't have insurance, so I gave the stone to my mom to give to her doctor for analysis. It was the typical calcium oxalate kind of stone. I attribute this recent stone because I increased my spinach and cranberry intake in the past 6 months, not knowing those are a no-go for these kinds of stones. Previously I had previously had stone fairly frequently, but they were mostly sand particle size. In any case I need advice on the type of diet to follow. I am a vegetarian, though admittedly I used to eat poorly. Any advice would be great, because I do not want this to happen again.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I have started to drink about a half of glass of lemon juice a day, which I read prevents stones.

Lots and lots of water were my doctors only big suggestion. Give yourself so much water the particles and so diluted the dont have a chance to for stone. Basic but the best advice to anyone who has had a stone, drink more water always. I am 300 lbs and try to drink between 100 and 160 oz a day. Keep my pee clear as possable.

Hi Eugenio.

There are other lifestyle changes that might help . But i think keeping very hydrated is key.

There r changes often not told to  u , and theres write up about those with some scientific research-- to back it up. to varying degrees

Hope its ok to post this National institutes of Health link. Once youre there, u can read the abstract n download the pdf fo the entire summary:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4635369/

i can add that there r some dietarfy modifications not often told...i  posted link to medical journal (World Journal of Nephrology) about those, but its in moderation now..so just in case its rejected...heres waht i recall of it

"lemonade therapy"--which yuore already doing

increase of daily fiber (forgot why it would help..)

in some cases moderate restriction of caffeine and alcohol

Its a fairly detailed medical survey n gives scientifc  sources forf all that gropu says..it doesnt advertise any product at all..

anyhow, if moderator approves it, youll have more to go on
