Hi all
I was prescribed beta blockers to help with mild anxiety/palpitations and told to take them once a day (twice if there's no difference).
The only issue is, I am struggling with swallowing them. I'm a young teenager and am not new to taking tablets. The propranolol tablets are tiny and keep falling to my lips whenever I try to drink water (so my lips kind of go into a kissing shape and the propranolol is still there). My anxiety gets even worse because I waste about two or three tablets trying to swallow them. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried using a straw, putting my chin down, etc, but I just have that gagging feeling; I can't put the tablet at the back of my tongue because it won't go that far. I have to put it at the front, otherwise it feels horrible putting it down that far since it's so small
Is there a liquid form of propanolol available? Would I need to book an appointment with the GP for that, or just go straight to the pharmacy and just show my tablet prescription?
