I started Self catheterization, CIC, May 2018. This has been 8 months now. One thing I have noticed since I started, is that pain I had in my finger joints has gone away. I even had "trigger finger" on and off that has not happened during that time. My theory as to why this may be happening is because it requires a lot of hand washing, and when I wash the hands I flick water off them into the sink. This shaking and flicking of the hands may be causing the arthritic like pain in the fingers to diminish. I know this may sound crazy and may just be a coincidence, but I would like to know if anyone else has experienced a similar thing. Thomas
Hi Thomas, That’s interesting because I too suffered arthritic pain on my finger joints prior to having the TURP operation a year ago. Your post has made me notice that I no longer have this problem, maybe coincidence ? I was suffering from urine retention, so much so that I developed a large bladder stone which needed surgery for removal. The stone would sometimes cause bleeding which was noticeable in my urine. Could it be uric acid crystals getting into the blood stream and then getting into the joints ? Perhaps someone more knowledgable on here could advise further. BTW the operation has been a great success and I can satisfactorily pee with power and in quantity, almost like a teenager. Yes i now dry ejaculate but that’s actually not a big problem and in fact has had some bonus points in meaning blow jobs are not now out if the question, lol !
