I have recently been forced to resign as a result of my fibromyalgia and my employer has said they will be giving me three months wages at the end of February.
I'm still not sure whether to take things further. I've been to see Citizens Advice and they say I have a case for disability discrimination.
I am still able to work and I want to work but I've had the confidence and motivation kicked out of me. The stress and suffering I have endured are beyond words and I'm not sure whether to proceed legally.
Has anyone been in a similar situation because this is eating away at me...?
Fybromyalgia is recognised under the Disability Discrimination Act although when all said and done it is down to what you can and cannot do. You need to find a lawyer that specialises in this type of case, be aware that in the UK you are entitled to see a solicitor free of charge for 30 minutes if you request it, so find one thats rated for disability discrimination and demand your 30 minutes, make sure you take as much relevant paperwork and information/dates etc so he can give you some answers based on facts. 90% of the time the company wil settle out of court, usually at the last minute, its a case of holding your nerve and being brave. Remember, if they did this to you they'll happily do it to others so making a stand is important, someone I know did this and went on to advise 6 further people who found themselves in the same position with the same company! Good luck xx
Hi Stephanie, I'm sorry to hear about you having such a traumatic time. Why is your employer giving you 3 months wages if you have resigned? This usually happens when s contract is terminated. It certainly sounds like you have your grounds for disability discrimination. Let us know how you get on. The previous post has advised you well.

Thanks for your reply.
That's what I thought too. It's almost a cover up to make the organisation look good and to me they just look guilty!
but my predicament is whether that 3 months money is enough....
Thank you for your advice.
I'm still contemplating whether to see a solicitor but I guess I've got nothing to lose...
Hi, I do think you need to seek legal advice and to copy all communication for you and your legal advice team. Have a chat with CAB if you cannot get an early appointment with someone who specialises in employment law. Did work accommodate you at all?
