I am currently still in a relationship with the person who gave me HSV1 (genital infection). I am at a point where I may be leaving that relationship and I am insanely worried about the disclosing aspect of dating. I know I have to do it (I would never not do it) but I’m curious about everyone’s experience with it.
Do you disclose immediately before even going on a date? Or do you just disclose when it’s obvious sexual interactions are going to happen? Also, out of pure curiosity, how bad of a move is it to just say that you have HSV1 and not disclose that it’s an atypical infection site (genitals vs. mouth)? Not even sure this is something I’m going to have to do yet, but if it is I’d like to start preparing myself now.
