Hey, so I've had this issue for about 2 years, I think. For as long as I can think back atleast. I'm 18 years old, and this has never interrupted me in sexual activites, no pain, no itch, none of that, so I never went to a doctor with it. I'm kind of curious about what it might be, so if possible, I'd like to get some help here.
Thanks in advance
John
I'm not a doctor, but that looks like balanitis xerotica obliterans, also known as balanitis XO or penile lichen sclerosus. You should definitely see your GP, and they will probably refer you to a urologist. You could also go to an STI clinic - I don't think it's an STI, but they can deal with all sorts of problems in that area, and you'd probably get an appointment sooner, or maybe just walk in.
There's a "Balanitis" link at the side of this page. It's written for doctors, but might be useful anyway.
Actually, there are two "Balanitis" links at the side of this page. The bottom one is written for doctors, and the top one is for the general public.
If you google "GUM clinic near me", you can find your nearest genitourinary medicine (sexual health) clinic. Either that, or make an appointment with your GP. I definitely think you should get it looked at though.
Most men do not go to an Urologist because of embarrassment. If you have no problem showing the world your penis on the internet, then you will have no problem going to an Urologist, who can diagnose and treat what you have, instead of just guessing. If you haven't stuck your unit into someplace where it shouldn't go or disease ridden, then perhaps whatever substance you use for masturbation is the cause. Use PURE aloe vera gel, with your handy exploits, and see if it gets better.
It looks like chafe spots or urine burn. I get very similar and it comes and goes. It can also be from marathon masturbation or receiving oral. Is the droplet in the third photo a drop of pre-ejaculate or a raised bump?
I don't think most men use any "substance" for masturbation unless they're circumcised.
The droplet in the third photo was actually something that showed up very recently, after a long session of intercourse with my girlfriend. Never had it before, and it stings like a bitch if I touch it.
I do masturbate a lot, more than once per day on average, for numerous years. Oral sex I have recieved minimum of, so I don't think that's it.
Thanks for the reply.
Well here's the thing. I feel "hidden" on the internet, more than in real life obviously. So I've never been to one because I am indeed embarassed about this. I also use no lubrication or any form of substance when I masturbate, only my hand.
Thanks for your reply. I will take it into consideration about seeing a urologist, but I'm really embarrased to flaunt my penis out to a doctor, especially in the condition it's in. I've just never done it before to a doctor because I've never had any physical problems with the condition as it is as of now.
I don't think masturbating that often at that age is unusual, and neither masturbation nor oral sex would normally cause a problem.
Don't be embarrassed about seeing a doctor. They've seen everything. Women have to get on their backs with their legs in stirrups every time they have a pap smear, so we actually get off lightly.
If you're really bothered about it, then find a GUM clinic some distance away. They're even ok with people not giving their real names if they think they have an STI, though I'm not sure that would apply if you have BXO and need treatment beyond tablets and creams.
I can totally understand you being embarrassed about getting it out in front of a doctor, but they've seen hundreds if not thousands of penises, most of them with issues, so they're pretty much unshockable. If you have what I think you might have, then it could get worse, and can probably be easily treated. If it was me, then I'd be making an appointment for next week.
If you do see a doctor (and I hope you do), then good luck, and let us know how you get on.
