Went to see the surgeon yesterday, I am 3 weeks out. Come to find out that I dislocated my hip!! 😫 Has this happened to anyone else out there?? Am having to go back to the OR to see if dr can pop back in, if not then he will have to cut me again.

Tell me about it. And to add to it, the surgeon said I am going to have to wear a knee brace, keeping my leg str8 for 6 weeks!!! 😳😫😢. My shoulders are hurting me know not to mention my left hand, from using the walker......My luck! 😞
Hi Linda. I'm sorry to hear about this. I am wondering how you didn't have any pain from the dislocation! I was still in the hospital when they happened. My hip dislocated 3 times after my replacement and each time I had to have surgery and a new one put in. Good luck with the outcome. Be careful.
Wow! 3x!! How are you now?? Yea dr was surprised too!! I mean I was told I would know if I dislocated the hip!! I felt pain but it has been tolerable but there were times it was pretty bad! I was still doing the exercises too! Now my shoulders are hurting me having to put all my weight on the using this walker. Dr said I'm gonna be in a knee brace for 6 weeks to keep leg str8!! 😫

I'm thinking maybe I twisted while I was getting a shift outta my drawer. Well my surgery was at 4 pm by the time they got me to room it was I guess 930ish. So not too sure how long it was. Today at 4 is the time to see if dr can put hip back. Thanks, I too hope he can do this without cutting me again.

Didnyou suffer severe oain from your dislocation?
Sandra to be honest I really didn't have severe pain. Pain was there but I was still doing my exercises and put some not full pressure on that leg. It's not until the past couple of days that I can't put any pressure and the pain is getting worse! I'm here at hospital wtg....soon...am scared.
Hi Linda - glad you are not in too much pain and glad that you are in the hospital and will be treated. This cannot be the first dislocation they have treated and we are all sending the very finest healing vibes to you.
I think you need a distraction. Perhaps you should begin a survey of staff there. Rate attitude, compassion and yes, visual appeal!

Hi Linda. You should not depend on what happened to me. After 3 surgeries for dislocations, I ended up in a body brace for 2 months. I also got infected and had 4 more surgeries to debride the area and had IV antibiotics and a PICC line. I had to have the hip removed and no longer have a hip on that side. It was fused, and is now cracked. I have pain and walk short distances using a walker, which has caused problems with both my shoulders and my other hip and knee. I use a power chair for travel and shopping. I don't think you should worry about thing happening to you the same as with me... Be careful with bending, etc. Good luck with getting the dislocation resettled. All the best.

No.....the dr had to cut me again cause it was caught on cup. Then when in there saw cup was loose and had to redo the whole thing!! New hardware. 😞
