Diverticula pain

Hi there,

Does anyone else with diverticula disease find in difficult to bend down and step up (for instance climbing into bed)?  I am having such pain in my left side.

I do in my left groin sometimes it's really hard to swing my leg into bed

Hi Joanne

It seems to be common to have pain on bending, stretching and lifting, after a flare up.  I certainly did, and it took quite a few weeks to ease up.  After my flare last August, I was still feeling it in November, and when turned over in bed.  But now, despite another couple of small flares, it has gone now my insides have settled down.  I suggest painkillers and a hot water bottle (but probably not in this weather!!!) as the normal treatment, plus rest and plenty of fluid.

Thank you so much, that is reassuring.

Thanks for your reply, the more information you receive with this horrid illness, the better you feel!

I have found that when my CD is giving me trouble I get discomfort climbing stairs and walking up a steep hill.

That's DD, not CD. Darned auto-spelling, 😁

Hello, yes, pain on bending and even sitting. Most comfortable position is standing on tiptoes with arms stretched up....but not very practical for everyday life!
